If you're willing to pay a reasonable amount of money, Hyrule Warriors is the game that keeps giving. We've already had two fairly meaty DLC packs - Master Quest and Twilight Princess - along with some individual costume sets, and the next substantial offering is just a couple of weeks away.
Unsurprisingly timed to coincide with the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, the Majora's Mask Pack was briefly shown off in the most recent Nintendo Direct broadcasts with footage of Tingle as a playable character, and all of the weirdness that entails. The game's official website has now outlined the full details of the pack, below.
- New character: Young Link – A boy able to use the power of the demon's mask. He fights nimbly and heroically with his sword. When wearing the demon's mask, he takes its shape and his attacks are strengthened. This power is beyond human understanding, and he will not stop attacking until all of his enemies are destroyed.
- New character: Tingle – A 35 year-old bachelor and the reincarnation of a fairy. He uses a balloon to freely jump around the battlefield and blow away enemies. His ability to do things like dodge and attack at the same time make him hard to predict and a force to be reckoned with.
- New Adventure Mode map: Termina Map – In a world where the moon falls moment by moment, you can make free use of mysterious item cards that hold new powers while advancing through your adventure. As a new reward, you can earn some new rank weapons, as well as costumes.
- New costumes: "Memories of Time" – Three costumes: "Skull Kid Style" for Lana, and "Ocarina of Time Style" costumes for Impa and Shiek.
That all sounds rather fun, and as with previous DLC packs there'll also be a software update to tweak levelling and make minor adjustments - version 1.5.0 is outlined below.
- Maximum level increased
- New mixing materials
- New medals
- New weapon skills
- Updated Junk Store – "Skills Cancellation," "Skills Advice," and "Weapons Sale" added
- Updated Adventure Mode information screen – "Damage Taken" and "Retry from the Beginning" added
If you've already grabbed the DLC season pass (£13.49 / $19.99) you'll get the Majora's Mask Pack at no extra cost, or it'll be £6.29 / $7.99 / €6.99 on its own. It arrives in the West on 5th February in North America and 29th January in Europe (Thanks to Tsurii897 for the EU date correction).
Are you excited about the Majora's Mask Pack DLC for Hyrule Warriors? Let us know.

This was revealed last week. Usually I get my Nintendo information from NL first.
Oh well, I'm really happy about Tingle as playable character, still missing Skull Kid though.
There is still hope for Groose in the last pack!
The fact that we got cheated out of a playable Skull Kid and are instead provided with a stupid, nonsenseical costume for the atrociously generic Lana (who isn't even a canonical LoZ character) makes me really sad and frustrated.
I love Tingle and Young Link/Fierce Deity as much as the next LoZ-fan, but seeing as Majora's Mask will soon be re-relased and the severe lack of playable villains (again, canonical) in Hyrule Warriors made the decision to cut Skull Kid even more questionable.
PS. Skull Kid may or may not be my favorite LoZ character.
@Tsurii897 So it is, thanks
Adventure mode and the junk store should have been like this from the beginning.
Bloody hell...i called it. I somehow called it they will bring back tingle...and i feared that moment...shudder
I dunno, this pack just feels lacking compared to previous ones. An alt of a character already featured and a gag character. Skull Kid would have been a good addition. The costumes aren't great either.
My season pass has already paid for itself, so I'll end the griping there, but I probably wouldn't buy this pack separately.
I am NEVER going to finish this game. That's not a complaint but It is killing my desire for samurai warriors 4-II when that comes out.
Tingle rules.
LOL I'm still on the first adventure map, I swear I have put loads of hours in and still haven't clocked it yet!
How long are people spending on this game, I love it and the content but man i think i have put at least 100 with about 50% of adventure mode map done!
I'm at around 100 hours now. My main Adventure map is not complete and I've made minor progress through the Master Quest map.The game is very addictive. By contrast, I only have about 10 hours clocked on Smash Wii U. I think I need help.
@antipop621 I'm the same. I swear whoever thought of those stupid "kill a bazzilion enemies while giant bosses chase you and if you don't waste time killing other heroes the enemies get harder" missions was a jerk. I'll beat them yet
"Updated Junk Store – "Skills Cancellation," "Skills Advice," and "Weapons Sale" added"
If the updated weapons sale means we can sell weapons whenever we want, not just when we get a new one and have 10, I'm happy right there.
Next update is "Boss battle mode" should be interesting.
Only 4 or 5 more moths until the last MK8 DLC pack
@BensonUii Actually no there isn't...
I love Hyrule Warriors to bits, but I stopped playing it, just to wait to have the full roaster and be able to level the new characters too on the Adventure maps. I can't wait to play again!
@BensonUii
No new characters in the last pack, just new game mode.
@TingLz @Luffymcduck
Oh.... Sorry. But who knows they decide to add one
oh god, max level increased even further?? ugh alright then this is gonna take years to max all characters
Finally this is covered. Got the game on Saturday.
Just about finished the Twilight Map only one heart piece left. The fact that so much has been added is great; I'm curious if they will continue support after the next additional modes (boss fights?). I really hope they do, there's a lot of Zelda games left they could make Adventure Maps for. LttP/ALBW, WW, SS, LA, OoS/OoA, and on and on. This could really be the game that keeps on giving.
@Zach777 Depends how well the DLC packs are selling, anyone know how much the last two sold?
Also I pray one of those modes are online. It's 2015 c'mon nintendo or I guess koei in this case
Anouma lied
I'm never gonna 100% this game am I... I gave up on that goal a looong time ago
My friend and me hoped the new playable characters would be skull kid/majora and the happy masks sales man.
@rjejr Yes, you will be able to sell your weapons without reaching the maximum. Also I really wonder what the new modes will be in the next pack because there won't be a boss rush mode as it's already in the game.
I had gotten far enough in this to take a little break and play some other games..... BUT IT DRAWS YOU BACK!
I wonder if it's 200 now or 175?
Very fun game and the DLC has been great, except I do have one issue. The game gets to a level of difficulty that makes it pretty much impossible, and I consider myself pretty skilled. For example, I have Link at level 100, and yet some of the bosses and such on the Twilight map still take 476 hits to kill, and can ruin my required to continue A ranking in like 2 hits. I even have an Exp plus thing on him but it's still a bit slow. The others aren't even close to his level (closet at 67 I think) do they are almost unusable. I've put well over 100 some hours into this game and yet I feel like it expects me to put 150 hours into each charavter, doing nothing but grinding exp, just to be able to enjoy the DLC.
When are they going to give us more story mode missions?
@Whopper744
Do have most or all badges for the characters you use and have you been using versus skills on level 3 five star weapons?
Everything sounds fine great except for little aounuma there. Ugh.
I really have to start playing more of this game if I want to go through all the content. Just so muuuuch.
No Skull Kid, no buy.
not excited for tingle, but i welcome even more content.
Tingle and a Skull Kid costume, my day is GOOD. Still sad I had to import Tingle's second game in Japanese, which I don't understand in the slightest.
I hoped for the Happy mask man or the music box man. Alas, it wasn't to be...
Aarrgh !!! Even more stuff to try to complete! I've become addicted to this game, and nowhere near close to getting all my weapons upgrades. This has to have been one of the best value games I've ever purchased, clocked a few hundred hours so far and still as addictive as when I first played it!
A RETRY OPTION! FINALLY!
@Grumblevolcano - I have no idea what the last pack will bring, but all the others have had some good stuff. Only caveat is all the others were $6 each and the last is only $3 (rough guesstitmates).Should be good whatever it is.
Really really wish I hadn't lost my save point and had to start over
@Captain_Gonru - I'm really not at all interested in any of those Sim games, Animal Crossing or otherwise. As for Directs, I still wish last weeks was all about the new 3DS so we could have gotten one in Feb for Mario Maker - my kids wasn't stop talking about it, and Yoshi's Wooly World and Splatoon and XCX and Starfox and Zelda.
There probably won't be a big one when the MK8 DLC comes out - I think they said "late May" - b/c they'll be saving all their ammo for E3 June 16 -18.
Maybe March for Mario, Yoshi, Splatoon, Starfox and Zelda, stuff we already know about, so new stuff, like your ACU game, at E3
