In this completely silly run of bite-sized features, we've written a new version of '12 Days of Christmas' with a Nintendo twist that will, hopefully, be good enough to sing.
Twelve Wiimotes Waggling
While this writer hates the word Wiimote with a passion — it's Wii Remote — it's a term used by many that also fits the song. This is a lyric of affection too, as though most will sometimes tease the occasionally excessive use of waggle in motion controls, the Wii and its controller remain a triumph of design, simplicity and fun. On top of that, it's given us E3 moments like these.
To finish off, then, our song is as follows:
On the First day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
A big chair in a Pear Tree.On the Second day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Third day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Fourth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Fifth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Sixth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Seventh day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear Tree
On the Eighth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Ninth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Nine Shantaes Dancing
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Tenth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Ten Falcons Punching
Nine Shantaes Dancing
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Eleventh day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Eleven Warp Pipes Warping
Ten Falcons Punching
Nine Shantaes Dancing
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Twelfth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Twelve Wiimotes Waggling
Eleven Warp Pipes Warping
Ten Falcons Punching
Nine Shantaes Dancing
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear Tree
There you have it, the final song. Thanks for all of your suggestions, and at the very least we hope this version will serve as a prompt for many more 12 Days of Christmas variations to be written and shared. We hope you all have a Nintendo Christmas!

Oh no, not the E3 2008 Nintendo conference!
I wasn't expecting this but it's good regardless. now do the waggle dance with Wiimotes on both hands while singing the song NLife team!
Rock on, drum dude! 😎 Ha ha! But anyway, Merry Christmas and a happy holidays to all!
Everyone gets love on Xmas, even Wii Music!
Hah! Oh my goodness, that made me laugh. Perfect for twelve drummers drumming. Well played NintendoLife, well played.
Y'know, I thought "Wiimote" was Nintendo's term for the controller. Didn't they trademark it?
@Nashew Maybe they did, I just have an irrational dislike for the word
Huzzah. Jolly good show chaps!
I like it! The only thing I would change is for day 8 you could have done
8 players smashing!
I think that dude thought he was actually good...sounded horrible.
That's pretty good.
I actually didn't think Wii Music was that bad, although it didn't do Nintendo any favors as far as their core market. The E3 presentation of Wii Music was painful, though.
Wii Music U continues to be my most sought-after unannounced title. Make it happen, Ravi Drums!
Laugh all you want, but he'll be back for an encore @ E3 2015 to promote the long anticipated Wii Music U.
Watch this space.
@Trent_Easton I predicted (and was wrong about) that happening this year given the pointless inclusion of 3DS Music Park in Mario Kart 8. Despite the dreaded E3 2008 presentation, Wii Music actually sold pretty decently, in fact better than all Wii U games except 3 so far (NSMBU, Nintendo Land, Mario Kart 8). Wii Music U isn't so unlikely especially as Wii Party U is a thing.
Ehhh.... Its OK
