The end of last week saw the arrival of EGX 2014, the UK's biggest gaming event and home to the 2014 Mario Kart 8 Championships — which Nintendo Life helped host.
Although the show saw a record attendance this year, sadly not everyone can have the chance to go along for the ride — so we've put together this handy gallery of our favourite bits. Be sure to also check out our more robust gallery on Facebook and keep an eye on the site for video coverage from the show in the coming days.

No NLifer on the pics? Also M.Bison playing 3DS.
@BensonUii We're not that interesting to look at.
It looks so amazing. I wish my country's events could have such a large Nintendo presence. It seems South Africa is populated with Dota 2 players and either a choice of Fifa, Need for Speed, or Call of Duty on an Xbox 360.
@Damo
Awwww I'm disappointed. Not even on your backs or costumes? it's time you expose yourselves to us!
@BensonUii you asked for it!
What? Nintendolife was helping with Mario Kart 8 Championship. I didn't see anything about that on this site this entire past month...
@Samuel-Flutter While I don't remember the articles, there were some articles last/this month talking about Nintendo Life being apart of the Mario Kart 8 Tournament.
Must've been a very fun time, what was the best part of EGX 2014?
@Iggly I'm sorry, I was being facetious. Every article about EGX they made mention of it. Also they posted Mario Kart 8 championship articles every weekend.
@Dazza
Haha! Awesome!!! I knew Tom has it on him!
NLifers are like:
I'm in the 13th photo! I'm that guy in the bullet bill T-shirt sitting on the seat behind the guy with the glasses!
I saw some of the Nintendo Life staff milling around the show floor but I was way too bashful to go up and thank them for their efforts. Saw the Outside Xbox crew walking around too, same deal, didn't have it in me to go up and say hi.
I wish i went there,it looked like a fun time.
@Toaster05 aww don't be shy, we don't bite (most of the time!)
@Natey2510 you are most welcome. Nate did a great job making it to the finals on Sunday. We certainly hope to do more events like this in the future.
Why haven't they made a story about JonTron's charity livestream on Banjo-Kazooie?! I expected NLife to do so, oh well
I'm so jealous
@Samuel-Flutter Yeah, sorry about that. How odd of us to want to promote such an amazing event where we got to work directly with Nintendo at the UK's biggest gaming expo.
We'll try not to in the future.
Looks like lots of fun!
Good to see loads of hardcore gamers trying mario kart and other wii u games hopefully it will help them get wii u as well as there main consoles like ps4 and xbone .
@Damo Well I'll forgive you this time for being so excited. And don't feel bad, that level of hype could happen to anyone.
@Dazza WHAT, BK? I mean, an NLife lunch/staff party at BK?! I'm not saying Ramsay, but I'd expect AT LEAST Zizzi, Damo. Such disappoint...
It was a load of fun though I severely underestimated the hype for Splatoon, that's the only Nintendo game I wanted to try out but didn't manage to.
@Samuel-Flutter I was pretty hyped, I'll admit that!
@andrea987 don't feel too bad for us, we only went to BK as we wanted something really quick before we got our train home. I assure you we frequented the finest dining establishments on other nights.
I really need to make sure i go next year. Looks really fun!
I live in a small third world country where we will never have such events. Nintendo should consider releasing some of the demos, e.g. smash wii u, out on the wiiu eshop for people like us, even if it is just for a limited time. That would give them even more exposure.
@Dazza Byron's didn't know what hit it.
