The poké-occupation of iTunes continues this week as the digitally remastered soundtrack from GBA titles Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire hits Apple's music store.
The album features 109 tracks from the games, composed by series icons Junichi Masuda, Gō Ichinose and Morikazu Aoki.
Every single musical cue is included, so it makes for an extensively nostalgic listening experience for anyone who spent some time in the island paradise of Hoenn.
Fans can download the full album for $9.99 or £7.99 depending on your region outside of the Pokémon world, or you can always choose individual tracks to reflect some favourite moments.
The album joins previous releases of the Fire Red & Leaf Green, Heart Gold & Soul Silver and X & Y soundtracks on iTunes, with even more still to come. Hoenn was a sun-drenched vacation of a setting, so let us know if you're tempted to escape the last of Winter's gloom with this latest release.

I wish they would release the Soundtrack for the original Gold/Silver.
I might pick this one up, but I also want the Pokemon B2/W2 one. Hmmm, maybe I'll just play Sapphire and buy the Pokemon B2/W2 soundtrack.
Are these still the shortest-possible versions of the BGMs?
PokeLife3Remake Confirmzed!!!Thankz GameValveFreakIntendo!
Trumpets everywhere! I'm sorry but R/S/E soundtrack isn't very good at all, it used to be my least favorite soundtrack of the main series, but X/Y both surprisingly and disappointingly managed to be even worse.
@Expa0 That's your opinion. Don't state it as fact. I, as well as a lot of other people, like the R/S/E soundtrack, in fact, I prefer it over every other soundtrack.
@bbve They have. The Heartgold and soulsilver album comes with the original tracks
I also think R/S/E has the best soundtrack. I just can't stand the dull sound of BW or XY. Some battle themes are nice, but R/S/E wins when it comes to town tunes.
@Unca_Lz might want to check your Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire link...
it says:
Description will appear here shortly...
Announced
Release Date:
Unreleased (USA)
Unreleased (UK/EU)
Are people not bothered about the physical CD when it comes to this ? (Like they are when it comes to games).
@BlatantlyHeroic Thanks for defending the soundtrack! It just so happens to be one of my favorites as well.
Hoenn confirmed!
Sapphire was the first pokemon game I ever owned...actually it's the game that really got me into gaming. I definitely have a special place in my heart for these two games so I'll be downloading the soundtrack for sure.
@Unca_Lz Ah, but FireRed and LeafGreen don't come with the Red and Green soundtracks. They're more expensive too...
Omg. Instabuy, lemme go to itunes.
@uel The HeartGold / SoulSilver soundtracks likely come with the 8-bit tracks as the games themselves came with the 8-bit songs - an obtainable key item hidden in the game would let you change the games' music to the original tracks, including a couple of new 8-bit versions of areas that weren't in the original GSC - whereas FireRed / LeafGreen didn't have this functionality.
@Raylax @ueI yeah. It's worth mentioning that they aren't the original versions, just recreations made for the DS games.
I figured as much; Red and Blue need their own album in that case. It's still a mystery why FireRed and LeafGreen is the most expensive album when it's the smallest.
In my opinion, this was the best soundtrack, perhaps that's because I'm a trumpet player, but I just think the whole thing sounds glorious
Come does no one but me like the pearl and diamond OST they where my favorite
blah blah blah HOENN CONFIRMED blah.
That's all. Carry on, folks.
I would say insert Hoenn confirmed joke here, but it looks like @AnActualDash has beaten me to the punch.
Oh, cool! Uh, other Nintendo franchises, please? ^_^; Sometime?
I personally am never finding any of these Pokémon albums on our local version of iTunes where we can purchase stuff using an actual credit/debit card, and getting pre-paid cards for the U.S. store is relatively expensive!
@MagicEmperor My thoughts as well
RSE soundtrack is godlike.
@MagicEmperor Pokemon isn't exactly a Nintendo franchise.
Cool,it's probably my favorite Pokémon soundtrack.
This is nice for iTunes users, but OST CDs are lovely collectors items for me. Expensive though!
@Uberchu I'm not a writer, but I'll forward the message to them
Trumpets & Horns. Trumpets & Horns everywhere.
Hoenn confirmed. Bring it on 3DS already.
One of my favorite soundtracks for any game. But I'm not offended by the people that find it annoying...
Now if only I could get the download to /work/.
I've never played ruby or saphire versions. However Emerald version is one of my favorites! It's crazy how expensive that game is now, You'd be lucky to get for $40 used!
YES! Keep em comin Nintendo!
@Unca_Lz thanks!
My favorite soundtrack
@JellySplat And...I sold it for like $10 to GameStop when I was a kid...
@Mr_3DS
Tut, Tut... I usualy try to look for it at thrift stores & goodwill. I found it a couple of times.
