While Europeans patiently — or perhaps impatiently — wait for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers to arrive on 13th September, North American 3DS owners have been enjoying the expanded reboot since April. Not only that, but the eShop download version is now available at a discount.
Until 14th July it can be picked up for $29.99, a drop from the standard $39.99. As a lengthy sci-fi epic RPG it may be worth having it on the system at all times, and it's certainly an experience we rated highly in our review, as the excerpt below makes clear.
For Shin Megami Tensei or Persona fans, this is a no brainer — Soul Hackers is a fantastic entry in the series and you won't be disappointed. Even better, it's an excellent place for newcomers to jump in, with a relatively smooth difficulty curve and user-friendly hacks to help you out of tight spots. Its mix of a late-90's futuristic setting with dark, mythologically-based demon designs is intoxicating, and there's an incredible amount of substance behind its irrepressible style. If you're looking for a deep, dark, story-driven dungeon crawler with soul, the Spookies await your call.
Are any of you on-the-fence 3DS owners in North America tempted to pick this up at a discount?

I'd still rather have a cart, but cool.
I just bought this off the eShop! It's like Strange Journey I heard, hopefully it has similar music since that's what I loved about SJ. Screw carts easier to have all the games on one system makes it easier to travel too! =)
Last time I remember Atlus had a deal like this on the eShop you could get the physical cart for sale too.
Too bad I'm going to be flat broke thru July 14th
Hmm I might have to see what I can do.
Hmm... how many blocks is it?
I love and hate sales at the same time. Stop takin' my money.
I think is better the retail version because it includes soundtrack.
Best Buy has a 21% discount on this game incase you guys were on the fence.
I'm loving these e-shop discounts. My backlog is too big at the moment though.
ohhh lucky you guys, too bad i bought it for full price a while ago. T_T
Sweet, I was going to download this a few weeks ago!
I got Yoshi at 30¢
I will buy a physical copy soon... Maybe alongside my copy of SMTIV
It's currently $29 on amazon as well! Amazon seems to always match these eshop price drops.
Any of you know how much blocks the game takes on the system if you get it digitally?
You can find that out instead of asking just by attempting to purchase it, it'll tell you how many blocks it is prior don't be lazy
It only tells you prior if you already have the funds on your system.
