C-Wars is a real-time strategy tower defence game that's being developed by Onipunks. The studio has just launched a Kickstarter campaign and is set to appear on PC, Mac, Linux and Android at some point this year.
However, the developer confirmed it could also appear on Wii U and 3DS should it be successful in receiving the funding.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, you take control of Sector 7 in the battle against corrupt armies, the mafia and of course, zombies.
Loup Zhou, creative director and lead programmer on the project, says the game is inspired by Fallout, Super Robot Taisen and Call of Duty and aims to push the tower defence genre forward:
If you like tower defence, you will like C-Wars. If you're not satisfied with tower defence, you will like C-Wars.
It's safe to say tower defence fans should keep their eyes on this one. The game uses a pixel-based art style, which we think looks pretty cool, and it looks as though the gameplay could be a lot of fun.
Currently, Onipunks has completed 45% of the overall game and is launching this Kickstarter campaign to speed up the development by bringing in more full-time staff.

When the Kickstarter'ed deluge of indie games hits Wii U.... we'll have a bunch of okay indie games on Wii U. Really want to hear more news of games made FOR the system, not PC games brought over 'cause why not.
If you back enough you can get a special weapon on PC, but not on the 3DS/WiiU. I'd say if you want to show your support get the PC version and unlock the special weapons.
I hope Esmy will be on the Nintendo ones, because well, Cryamore is coming to Wii U, so why not? :3
I'd love to see this on Wii U/3DS. It looks awesome.
Looks like it could be cool.
Btw, it really reminds me of (a more chaotic) Megaman Battle Network!
@The_Fox: IM A FOX TOO
Whooa.. That looks pretty cool. That green haired girl just looks like a re colored Kallen from Code Geas and I swear one sprite looked just like the blue fish girl from Megaman Zero though.
Yes please!!
There are WAY too many tower defense games out there.
This project looks like it's WAY more than a mere tower defense game... Those pixel animations remind me of the over-the-top attention to detail for the pixel animations of the GBA era... It would be perfect for a Nintendo console...
These people have deviated SO far away from the current norm in the Chinese gaming industry, and they are staying true to the ethics of DRM-free; looks like it's time to back another project!
I really don't want to play another tower defense game but at least this game has potential. We'll see if this game lives up to the developer's expectations.
@LittleIrves Why is that ? Im dead serious those game would work on the WiiU, WE DONT NEED specific games on WiiU, we need games... so far theres a lot of games coming, most of them (even if they are PC ports, actually, what game ITS NOT A PC PORT ?) looks damn good... and Tower defense games are a given on WiiU/3DS Stylus gameplay
I cant find your logic behind... really
hopefully we get this we need more games on the eshop
Dat pixel art and dem animations! Wow!
The more indie-devs support the better. The games are getting better too.
i Would definitely love to see this on Wii U and 3DS.
I normally despise Tower Defense as they never challenge me and/or look terrible, but this one might just be the first one to leave a positive impression.
Ok, this looks really cool. If it makes it to the eShop I will buy this.
Don't know if it will be my cup of tea, but it looks pretty nice!
I find this game very interesting. I'd buy it for my 3DS or Wii U.
