This morning Nintendo uploaded a very brief Nintendo Direct video, providing details of a promotion in Japan for Wii U users.
Our host, President and CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, outlined that those who register their retail and downloadable games on Club Nintendo have the chance to enter into a draw - the winners receive a whole year of free Wii Karaoke U service.
A total of 1,000 participants will be picked, but all entrants will be given 24 hours of free Wii Karaoke U service. Entrants should really let the neighbours know in advance, so they can stock up on earmuffs.

Yay, karaoke. Just what every die-hard Nintendo fan wants.
@Prof_Clayton if you live in Japan... Karaoke there is huge!
I'd like a free Iwata floating-head app to follow me around.
I wish the US had a Karaoke app for Wii U. I know it's not as big here, but some people still like it!
Hahaha I'm glad for Japan to get something exclusive that I'm not jealous of, for a change
Oh WOW! Just WOW. Wii U Karaoke?? Now I heard everything. If anything, I hope it isn't ANYTHING AT ALL like that horrid Wii Music. Now THAT game was PURE GARBAGE!
so sad.
Well actually Wii Music was pretty groovy and will be even better with the new online infrastructure. I'd love to do some more jams with Mr. Brutus in Wii Music U!
@Prof_Clayton What an ignorant thing to say especially since it is so big in Japan.
Karaoke isn't my thing. Personally do not want out of respect for the innocent ears of others.
Can see this being much more appealing to the Japanese market though. If only there was 24 hours of free Nintendo sake to go with it .
