Japanese website 4Gamer (via Andriasang) recently asked a huge selection of Japanese developers about their best moments of 2011, and what they look forward to in the coming year.
Predictably the 3DS featured heavily, with Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba calling the console "a revolution in entertainment", and studio stablemate Hideki Kamiya naming the system's 3D Classics series his top entertainment of 2011.
Several developers named Nintendo's biggest games as their top choices of 2011: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword got the nod from Konami producer Shingo Mukaitouge and tri-Ace's Yuzo Amano, while Love Plus senior producer Akari Uchida went for Mario Kart 7. Super Mario 3D Land picked up praise from Sony Computer Entertainment producer Daisaku Ikejiri.
The full feature is well worth a read to find out what goes on inside the heads of Japanese developers. The thoughts of Tomonobu Itagaki and Toshihiro Nagoshi are worth a click alone.

sony liking mario dont lie sony we know you hate nintendo
They may be competing but theres no need for them to be immature about it @jtt235. They can still acknowledge the good games the other makes.
Transition years may not be pretty for the short term bottom line, but they pave the way for future successes. With a full year of the 3DS (including a much improved library of games) and the launch of the Wii U, Nintendo should see a lot more green (or whatever color yen are printed in) coming their way this year.
It seems weird but I agree with @Geonjaha yo, there's no need to be like that.
It's also nice to hear what other producers think about their games.
Since when has Sony ever been mature? They always insult Microsoft and Nintendo. :3
Sony has to respect the plumber. If there was any opportunity to bring him to their platforms, they would do anything or kill anyone to make it happen. Trash talking happens, but a good game cannot be ignored if anyone is intellectually honest. A bit of chest beating must be expected, confidence in ones own product is what shareholders demand.
Sony Japanese people don't seem to be as insulting as theeir American branch. I've seen people from Sony in Japan complement Nintendo before.
Guess this only adds to the stereotypes Americans are loud and abnoxious, huh? u_u
Wonder How Inafune felt about this year...
Good article. I enjoy hearing them speak well of each other and recognizing their hard work....
"How many can you name?"
