Nintendo is about to throw a whole bunch of free games at you tomorrow — here's the free NES 3DS games for North America — but many of you are already looking ahead to when the Game Boy Advance games will launch later this year. While that date is as-yet unspecified, Nintendo is preparing to launch a download to inform you exactly when they're out.
The Ambassador Certificate is a free downloadable video that will opt you into further communications about the program, including news about what the GBA games are and when they'll be available.
That's one more thing to download tomorrow, then.
What Is the Ambassador Certificate?
Answer:
The Ambassador Certificate is a downloadable video available to Ambassadors starting on Sept. 1. Once available, you will need to download the video, just as you would any Ambassador game in the Nintendo eShop.
By tapping the receive button on the Touch Screen when viewing this video, Ambassadors will receive updates regarding the Ambassador Program, such as when new titles are available to download. As soon as details for the 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console titles are available, we will send an update to those who have opted in using the Ambassador Certificate.
Ambassadors will be able to download 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console titles for free before the end of the year.
Thanks to Sejan for the tip.

Sounds good , but will this only be for NA?
They didnt really need to add a new application just for this though IMO
So they're announcing a video release date, which will tell us the release date? groan
@1 They probably did need to launch a new app to enable the right people to get the Spot Pass notifications.
This is going to be a long drawn out thing when it should be 20 games released on one day. Good ole Nintendo.
@4 - They could have easily made it 20 games released on one day, too. By waiting until they finish the work on the 20 GBA games and then releasing them all sometime near the end of the year.
Personally, I'm happy with the system of "work on them one by one, release in stages".
*10 GBA games...
I happen to be one of those people that's looking forward to the GBA games. I'm also waiting and hoping to see NeoGeo Pocket Color announced for the 3DS VC.
thanks! i spent all night looking for information on this video and where to find it on my 3ds but i couldnt! thnx James!! ^^ hugs
@7 same here. Give me The Minish Cap and I'll be happy
Are Ambassadors getting more than 20 games? It sounds like Ambassadors are like some sort of yearly premium account. What if Ambassadors like me get discounts on certain games?
Yeah for me im way more interestedin the gba games! Chances are though ive played them all which isn't a bad thing.
All 10 NES games and the Ambassador Certificate are live a day early in NA. Giggidy.
@:12
Whoo hoo!
@Koops3: Not sure where you got that idea. It's only 10 NES and 10 GBA games and nothing more
i'd like to also add that the GBA games are likely to be solely 1st party titles. All the NES games were and all the so-far announced GBA games are too.
I've heard people asking for Chu-Chu rocket and Tony Hawks, but I doubt we'll be seeing them on there.
I'm a little suprised Nintendo hasn't taken the opportunity to give Spotpass software downloads a shot with this and get the feature better known - it'd be awesome for Ambassadors to have their games downloaded to the system automatically, and be a good way to spread positive news about the feature through word of mouth. "Hey, I had 10 new games on my system this morning. It's neat how 3DS can do that... you got one yet?" for lack of a less corny monologue. People who've opted out of Spotpass could still get the games via eShop.
More directly on-topic; Ambassador Certificate seems like a nice touch.
i can download it now, is that a NA thing?
@4: Obviously the games are not ready. I'm guessing the NES games are easier to port because they are already on the Wii's VC. They already said they are updating the games too. Since the GBA games haven't been anywhere outside the GBA they would require more work. Would you rather wait 6 months to get them all?
@15: You didn't honestly believe they would have 3rd part titles did you? It seems pretty obvious that they would be 1st party only.
Honestly, the 3DS is really powerful... they're not even adding multiplayer, so emulation of the GBA should be no problem. What's the hold-up, nintendo!?
It's really not much of a video. It just tells you to enable SpotPass notifications. That is the entire purpose of the application: to receive notifications about the Ambassador program.
DiggerDan is right, the video certificate is definitely there to make sure that only Ambassador Program people get the notifications and all.
No restore points? Games Nintendo fans have already played and can get on multiple systems? You suck Nintendo you even promised us multiplayer in Ice Climber and Balloon Fight
@22: At some point later, Nintendo will upload improved versions which will have the Restore Points, multiplayer and all that. And we ambassadors will be able to download those improved versions for free.
I am pleasantly surprised.
When does the first game appear for people in Europe then ?
@XyVoX: Tomorrow.
I'm guessing it's totally fine to delete the certificate entirely, right? Though, with my luck it will be required to download the GBA games or something...
@Gilzane Yeah, I'm gonna look out for myself and keep the certificate just incase. It does also make you feel more rewarded seeing it on your home screen!
guess wat I GOT THE 10 GAMES AND THE CERTIFICATE IF U NEED HELLP ASK ME AND WHO WANTS TO EXCHANGE FRIEND CODES?
I was looking through my old 3DS downloads... when I saw this game's striking visual icon. Shocked that I forgot about it, I decided to touch the icon and come back to the game.
Game of the year, every year.
