A Better Title

Winamp, The long running free audio (and now video) player from AOL will be releasing a new version in October and one of the new features will be streaming support for your Wii and other next generation consoles.

The new 'Winamp Remote' will not be installed on to your Wii but merely enables to access your music library on your or a friends PC (as long as they give you access) from your Wii internet browser. Whether you are next door to your computer, at a friends house or anywhere else with an internet connection you can log on to your account and play your music/video at your leisure.

There are a few conditions for you to do this. Winamp has to be installed and running on your Windows operating system and your PC connected to the internet.

This is for many will be a welcome feature, adding to the Wii more multimedia value; an area the Xbox 360 and PS3 have already proved superior.

Check out the final version on the 10th October on the Winamp site, or alternatively you can play around with the beta, but be warned it contains many bugs.

If you don't understand the title of this post then you have never installed and used Winamp before. Try the program out with your Wii in October and you can find out for yourself.
