"Figures released today courtesy of the UK’s leading independent music, video and software performance and sales tracking company, Chart Track, show Nintendo’s home console ‘Wii’ is now being enjoyed by over one million people in the UK, becoming the fastest ever selling home console in UK videogame history to reach this milestone. Wii has passed the one million sales figure in just 38 weeks, some 11 weeks faster than the Playstation 2 which took 50 weeks to pass the million selling milestone and 22 weeks faster than Xbox 360 which took 60 weeks to reach one million UK sales."

Even the BBC have titled an article "Nintendo dominates in console war" in the Technology section of its news website.

"Demand has been so high that the Japanese firm has had supply difficulties. It is thought that it will take another year before the firm can ramp up production to meet demand. The firm has said it will ship 16.5 million Wii consoles by 31 March 2008, up from 14 million previously."

Nintendo can hold their heads high, Wii has been a huge success and doesn't look like slowing down... its any minute now that the Wii will overtake the Xbox 360 and become the true next-gen winner. Score.
