One of the biggest rumours floating around in Nintendo waters has been about the upcoming Gamecube title, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and its "compatibility" with the next-generation console, the Revolution.
Whilst visiting in Europe, Nintendo UK had a quick word with Shigeru Miyamoto who revealed the truth after Nintendo had dismissed these rumours over and over again.
Asked how the GameCube adventure was progressing, Miyamoto responded: "I would say that we are progressing well with completing it," says Miyamoto. "And one of the most important features is that, because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller."
Finally we know the truth. If there was any pattern to recent Nintendo rumours, it would be that they deny them, over and over again, before announcing that they're actually true genius.
Viva la Revolution.

I argue wether Twilight Princess will be GC or Rev with my manager Jabbnot quite a bit.
I cant really see how they can integrate both the old and new controler for this game. I mean they look and most lilely feel totally different. It is going to be an interesting E3 to say the least ^^'
At any rate the game is going to be so close to the release of the Rev, heh maybe even the same day now"
Yeah, obviously the game will have some "hooks" to know which system its running on, and therefore they could have quite a different control method for the Revolution controller, not just simply map the buttons.
Personally I don't think the revolution controller will work for Zelda. The GC controller is suitable enough.
I think the gaming system will make most use of the traditional controller, but maybe use the Revolution controller for selected action sequences (e.g. boss fights).
