Rune Factory 5 is the latest game of the series famous for mixing action JRPG gameplay with a friendly farming system.

This time, you find yourself in the small and lovely city of Rigbarth. While trying to recover your memories, you will help the citizens by working for the security team Seed as a ranger. As one of your missions, you will need to hunt and capture 18 creatures to climb the Seed’s ranks.

How to start the Wanted Monster missions

As one of your missions, you can hunt wanted monsters and capture them.

First, you must speak with Livia, your superior, at Rigbarth’s Outpost to check the list of monsters and then choose which assignment you are taking. It is possible to hunt only one monster at a time and each of them has a level of difficulty.

The monster you must capture has a red aura around it, so it is quite easy to spot it among the regular creatures. Once you complete the mission, you need to report it to Livia and receive your reward.

About ranks and rewards

There are two good reasons for completing these quests: to rank up as a ranger and Crests.

There are a total of six ranks and ten Crests, a type of equipment that gives you access to passive abilities that help your journey. You earn some of the latter by ranking up, but others will come as rewards for capturing a certain number of monsters from the list.

How to capture the Wanted Monsters

To capture monsters, you must use the Seal spell by pressing 'ZL' once they are weak. However, these are not easy targets, and lowering their health bar to catch them is not a simple task. However, as explained by this channel on Youtube (using the Japanese version of the game), there is a trick you can use to defeat them.

All you need to do is to throw Failed Dishes at them which will deal a considerable amount of damage. You can get them by cooking random edible items in your Cooking Table. For the level-5 monsters, it took around four to five of these before the creatures could be captured.

Slime

• Level: 1
• Quest: Capture the Slime!
• Location: At Phoros Woodlands, you need to follow the trail to the north.
• Reward: Weapon Bread x1

Fairy

• Level: 1
• Quest: Capture the Fairy!
• Location: At Phoros Woodlands, you will go straight and cross the river. Then you can go south until you find a small lake.
• Reward: Farming Bread x1

Goblin Archer

• Level: 1
• Quest: Capture the Goblin Archer!
• Location: South of Phoros Woodlands. You must follow the river to a cave’s entrance.
• Reward: Cooking Bread x1

Big Muck

• Level: 2
• Quest: Capture the Big Muck!
• Location: In Phoros Woodlands, go north and you will find it right after you cross the river.

Chipsqueek

• Location: In the Kelve Volcanic Region, you must go north and you will find the creature at the left side of the big fossil.

Ignis

• Location: In the Kelve Volcanic Region, you must go north to the lava area. Near to the Fire Dragon.

• Location: In the Kelvic Volcanic Region, follow the initial trail north and you will find it in the woods right at the beginning of the area.

• Location: In the Lake Yumina, warp to its entrance and go west following the mountains.

• Location: In Late Yumina, go south. You will find it next to a large crystal.

• Location: In Lake Yumina, go southwest. You will find the Elementalist in a slope behind where the Ice Dragon is.

• Location: this creature is part of a group of monsters whose location is always changing. When we found it, it was in Lake Yumina.
