Next up in our Metroid Prime 2: Echoes boss fight guides is the Spider Guardian in Sanctuary Fortress.

The entirety of this fight will take place with you in a large ball maze in your morph ball form; it will also last four rooms. Each room will make you change your strategy.

You need to navigate the maze while taking on the boss, who will travel along a set path. The aim here is to hit the Spider Guardian three times with ball bombs. After hitting it three times, a bomb slot in the area will activate, using it will open another route with a trap in it, damaging the Spider Guardian and sending it into a new area.

How to defeat the Spider Guardian

The first area is simple: bomb jump around, lay a trap where you can, head for the bomb slot when able to activate the trap, and follow the boss into the next area.

The second area will require you to use the ball boost ability to time your bombs; we advise camping the top right area of the half-pipe to get the three required hits to activate the platform to access the bomb slot. Activate the bomb slot and follow the Spider Guardian into the third area.

The third stage of the boss fight will include a large room with a half-pipe and an ‘S’ shaped platform. We advise putting bombs as you drop into the top of the ‘S’ shaped pattern and rolling towards the camera to escape the Spider Guardian. After the three hits, use the bomb slot to make the Spider Guardian move on to the final room.

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes: How To Defeat Spider Guardian 4

In the final area, you’ll need to damage the Spider Guardian with three of the traps. You’ll be on the same tracks as the boss so keep moving, keeping an eye on where you can escape whilst damaging it with ball bombs. Use bomb jumps to access each bomb slot after damaging the boss three times apiece.

Reward for beating the Spider Guardian

Use the bomb slots to change the route the Spider Guardian will travel, and the boss will be defeated. Your ball-rolling skills will be rewarded with the Spider Ball Suit Upgrade.
