News Game Gear Games Reach Japan VC Next Month

The Japanese 3DS Virtual Console service will get its first Game Gear games next month. Andriasang reports the service will get its next new system on 14th March, launching with Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble, Dragon Crystal and Shinobi. While the evil genius Dr. Robotnik is testing the ultmate destructive weapon, one of his assistants makes a mistake causing his lab to explode and scattering five Chaos Emeralds across the planet Mobius.

Sonic and Tails spin-dash to rescue them. Tricky Knuckles streaks right behind, with sticky-fingered Nack the Weasel joining the hunt. Its a triple-threat race to see who will get the Emeralds first!

I loved this game on Game Gear and can't wait for 3DS owners to get it, too. I just wonder how much they'll want for it...

This is going to be the first Sonic game? What about the first game? The second game? Chaos? Few people even remember Triple Trouble. Why bother with it?

Obscure, you raise an interesting point. It could be because Sonic 1 and 2 on GG have seen rerelease in more abundance than Triple Trouble.

I think this is . Obscure or not, Game Gear games are a welcome addition to the 3DSVC. Who ever thought they would play game gear games on a nintendo system? Not me. I had both back in the day (started with original gameboy, then when game gear was getting phased out and got heavily discounted I picked it up - awesome for the price I paid).

This game is awesome! I have it on Game Gear and other systems and it so great. Graphics are bright, music is upbeat, but I dont like the fact that you have to find the emerald then get 50 rings, beat the stage and THEN go to the bonus stage for the emerald. But it is still great.
