Topic: $200 limit confirmed for eShop wallet

I've heard a few people asking about this, so I thought I'd write a forum post.

There is a $200 limit on your 3DS, and your Wii U. Linking the two via the new update doesn't increase the limit to $400, either.

I was scared to find out what would happen if you have $199 on each and try to merge them, so I did less.

But, if I try to add any more money, I get an error message proclaiming "you can not have more than $200 in your wallet at once!"

Just thought I'd let you all know! I picked up a bunch of the $50 cards for $35 at BestBuy Cyber Monday, and tried to add them all.

Nooooooooope.

So save them for later.

So what's the deal then? Suppose you've got 105 dollars on each account. Does your total go to 210, just this once, does it not let you merge them, or does it take the money away from your account? Just curious.

omg this is terrible! Nintendo is doomed, why is there a limit?!

At least this means that they'll never sell software for more than 200 dollars.

Well, when adding funds it has always said "you may not add funds that would cause your total to be in excess of $200"...

They should release Mother 3 onto the eShop for $201, lol

People would be angrier by the fact that you can't add enough to buy it than the fact that it's over 200 dollars

I hate to burst everyone's buddle except for steamhare but you CAN buy Mother 3 for $201 by using "Pay with your credit card" option. But we can't buy Mother 3 not because of the $200 limit but because its doesn't exist!
