i have the Legend of Zelda Collection for gamecube containing the followings: -OOT -Majora's Mask -Zelda 2 -Zelda -Windwaker Demo not that it really matters
I had thoughts about purchasing the games on the vc versions for the sake of having them there and to buy every nintendo made game in the process even for super mario 64 even though i have the ds remake but something about playing that on the big screen gives me the good ol days from my past
so what im asking is do you think it is a stupid idea to buy the versions on the vc or not?
personally, i don't see the point, but i'm all about saving money. so i see no reason to buy a game twice if the first works well enough. but that's my opinion and many people disagree, and that's totally fine. it's a preference thing.

I was exactly same only a few months back, but with OOT, I have it for the N64, GCN Disc that came with Wind Waker and the Collectors disc. It all depends on weather you think they are great games or not. IMO they are definely worth paying for again, just for the added bonus of not having to get up to swap discs lol.
You should download them onto your Wii, because then you can play them the way they were intended to be played rather than using that clunky GC controler.
LEGEND OF ZELDA: Wii Remote ADVENTURE OF LINK: Wii Remote OCARINA OF TIME: Gamecube Controler MAJORA'S MASK: Gamecube Controler
However, the Virtual Console versions of OoT and MM don't have the force feedback. There is the Ocarina of Time/Master Quest for GC, however, which retains the rumble while also providing a remake of OoT once you've "mastered" the original.
I'd also recommend getting A Link to the Past. You can play it with the Classic Controler.

The VC version are said to be much better. I've heard reports of framerate and even freezing issues on the N64 version on that disc. For 30 dollars/euros you've got all three of them, I guess that's about the same for the Collector's Edition if not more.
OoT plays perfectly on that disc, but let me echo others in strongly recommending that you buy MM from the VC, or you'll likely end up losing hours of progress due to a freezing / saving bug at some point.

But I bought Zelda 1+2 on VC, because of the suspension feature. I won't buy Ocarina and Majora on VC because the important Rumble feature missing.
Majora never freezed on my Gamecube version. The N64 version freezed twice, so it's not that glitchy. Only problem I have with the Gamecube versions: The sounds crack when you open menus.
I preordered Legend of Zelda: WW to get Legend of Zelda:OoT and Legend of Zelda:OoT Master Quest. I was living in the US at that time and never ever had an N64, only played it at a friends house.
Never had any bugs in those games and the visuals on both games are a little better than the N64 versions and it has the rumble pak feature. But it is the 1.4 version, so no red blood, no humming like in a muslim prayer in the Fire Palace or muslim ornaments on Link's shield.
I already own Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link on the original NES, but I bought Adventure of Link for the suspending feature. Might get Legend of Zelda too. I don't know. I don't regret to download games I already have. But as a matter of fact it is your personal preferance and decision. I also redownloaded Star Tropics and Secret of Mana, battery is dead on that game. I might get EWJ 1 and 2, even that I own them on SNES. Too bad they are for Mega Drive... My SNES is broken so the download would be worth it, because it is cheaper than getting a new SNES.
Do you need the rumble pak to find some items/pits for Majora's Mask like you did for OoT? If it's just for effects I don't mind, but if force feedback is actually helpful to find some items I may try to invest in the collectors disk or eventually just buy another N64.

It is required yes, no Stone of Agony in the VC versions of OoT & MM. Fortunately, I have them all memorized so it doesn't matter.
I hate the Majora's Mask disc port btw, it is horrible!! Blek! Dodgy framerate, issues with audio, and even crashes. I still have the Zelda collection disk, and Majora's is the only one I'd suggest replacing with a VC copy, unless of course it's convenience you're after, in which case, download 'em all!
There have been reports of Majora's Mask freezing on the Collector's Edition when rumble is turned on, but I don't think the problem is nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Over and above that, Nintendo admits on the loading screen that the emulation isn't perfect for that particular game. So if you want the full experience, you're probably best off buying the original N64 game.
Ugh, there was a stone of agony in Majora too? Lame. I knew there was one for OoT, but I have the OoT/Master Quest GCN disk, so that was never a problem. At some point I'll probably get an N64 anyways, just because of Rare games that will never be on VC, and because I prefer the N64 controller for N64 games. I'm a bit of a completionist when it comes to Zelda, but it's not really feasable to bomb everywhere randomly in the 3-D games like you could in the original LoZ.

I can't remember how important the hidden holes were in Majora's tbh, but I definitely remember them being there (for starters, there's one in the little shelter were the fairies first meet the Imp). They might just be those recharge holes that are dotted about, I'll have to check. I intend to play it again soon, need some Zelda at Christmas, it's tradition. I'll let ya know (in a couple of months) if there's anything important hidden undergound.
Even though you could find CE at a pawn shop nowadays for 10 bucks or less, I prefer you download them on the Virtual Console instead becasue you get a bug-free version of Majora's Mask. Also, with the 200 Wii points leftover, save them for next time so that when you get more points you can get more games and you'll have extra points leftover in case you can't afford a good VC game. Then Next time get some VC games that are worth your time.
