Very much so! I am desperate for Nintendo to start making bite size WiiWare games with some of their best franchises, Zelda would be a great place to start. Yes, I know they don't want to tread on the toes of 3rd parties, but they also need to give the fans some love.

That is sort of the idea I had for a successor to Wii Sports to bundle with the console or sell like Wii Play. Make smaller versions of their games using their most loved characters. Use it as a way to give both the diehard fans some love with franchises that might not be seen very often (cough, Kid Ikarus, cough) and also as a way for the "casual" gamers to try out different types of games than just Bejeweled clones and Wii Fit.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

NES style Zelda for WiiWare? Not really, like the other retro remakes it'd be closer to quick cash-in than a valuable entry into the series.

Yet they still have fans. Strange that. We're all looking forward to Megaman 10 aren't we?

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Any 2D Zelda > 3D Zelda, even a remake/"ReBirth" WiiWare game. I'd definitely be interested.

Fair enough. They're pretty good games, but still they're near the bottom of their respective series'.

Even so, the Zelda series has typically commited to excellence, something none of these Rebirth games have shot for, thus I say I'd prefer them to work on a large project, than sending resources over to create a bite-size Zelda. Giving the reins to Capcom to make a Wiiware 8-bit Zelda would be a choice I could get behind though.

As for Mega Man 10, I'll likely get it, but must say they don't make'em like they used to.

I was quite happy with 10. The difficulty was more realistic than 1-3 while still having optional difficulty levels for those who aren't wusses like me. Proto Man mode, time trials, and endless mode really made it even better than the originals, I thought.

The Rebirth series, however, is redefining mediocrity one classic game series at a time. A Capcom-made Zelda would definitely be nice; just don't let Konami so much as breathe on it.

Obviously I'd buy it, but I would hope they would improve some of the problems with the first game. Lack of narrative, no sense of what you're supposed to do next.

It's funny cause I actually thought about it a few days ago, but I would really really really love one made for WiiWare in the same mold as aLttP. I know that PH and ST are top down and sorta like aLttP but I would love to see a true-sequel on WiiWare with the same soundtrack. Maybe even just a "Master Quest" type expanson. I'd be all over it. And I mean ALL OVER it, that they would need chemical reactions to break me away.

They did make something like that once. Now if only they'd port it to WiiWare...

Speaking of which, the other BS Zelda might be a good candidate for WiiWare as well.

Me too. There's no need for story. It's pointlessly intrusive when game story writing is always generic and bad. Players can imagine their own story if necessary. And finding the dungeons was one of the best parts. I really enjoyed that sense of discovery. It's a shame later games dropped this. The only time it actually became a problem was in second quest. I actually had to use a guide to find two of the dungeons, much to my embarrassment, though I don't see how anyone could have found them otherwise. But the first quest was perfect.

Honestly, I don't think the first quest had any flaws. Second quest is another story though. Its dungeons were much more interesting, but sometimes too hard, and often too hard to find (blowing up random walls with no clues? blowing the whistle where you're never told you ought to blow the whistle? seriously?). Finding the blue ring and meat were a bit too difficult, too, though not impossible. It's just odd that it was the only secret of its kind in the overworld.

I think people who complain about the original are trying to play it like A Link to the Past. The game is meant for you to explore the world for the sake of exploring. You'll find lots of stuff that makes the game easier if you enjoy looking for new places rather than constantly thinking "Got to get to the next dungeon!" And a sense of emergent narrative will come to you this way as you fill in the details of your adventure by your own actions. It's just another kind of game, and I don't think old games should be "fixed" when they're just different, personally.

By the way, you can always go to old woman behind the waterfall for hints if the game is too obscure. Her services aren't free, but they're helpful, and finding rupees isn't hard.

Noire

I'd probably pick it up, but I'd be certainly less excited than if they announced a 16-bit one instead. Or if they announced a Metroid game instead. Or if they bought me breakfast.

But it would be cool, no doubt.

Unfortunately so. Although I will still be downloading Castlevania Rebirth when it comes here.

Ninten

It could be great, but with SNES style graphics, it could draw more attention.

In a word, yes....

If it retained and improved the 8-bit art and animation, then yes, I'd definitely download it. I wonder if it's at all possible? I mean, they did bring a revamped Excitebike to WiiWare, though, tbh, I think it's more likely that we'd see Kid Icarus on WiiWare than a new Zelda game.

I don't know about going 8-bit, but I'd love to see the series go back to back to it's roots (it's REAL roots). One thing I loved most about the original Zelda was it's open structure. I loved the freedom of exploring the land and playing the dungeons in any order I wanted, instead of being restricted to a linear path like in the other games, and the useless map in the upper right corner added to the sense of discovery. Though I'd like to see some modern touches from the later games, such as 8-directional movement, spin attacks, and the ability to tap walls with your sword. It was annoying as hell having to lay bombs in front of every square of a wall to find secret passage.

This, or a Zelda 2 sequel would be flippin' awesome.

Well, in dungeons you don't have to bomb every square. Secret passages are always in the middle of walls there. The overworld caves were more ridiculous to find, especially in the second quest. Tapping would certainly have come in handy there.
