@Twario: In Majora's Mask did you try the inverted song of time? It pretty much doubles your time limit.

Not to speak for Twario, but IMO, putting any time limit on the entire game is pretty lame, no matter how much time they give you. Sometimes I just want to go at my own pace, instead of being rushed all the time. I mean, if it were a fast-paced game, I probably wouldn't mind it, but Zelda is too slow-paced for that kinda stuff, IMO. Honestly, Majora's Mask and Phantom Hourglass were the only Zelda games that I could never get into, and for the most part it was because they tried to have a faster pace than I felt they should have.

Again, just my two cents.

Oh yeah, by the way, I actually played Super Mario Bros. 3 again, and I'm actually starting to like it now. So I guess the only games I regret getting are Ice Climbers and Donkey Kong.

I never thought Streets of Rage 3 to be a bad game. Okay, sure; it's very challenging, has a nonsensical plot, has a somewhat dissapointing soundtrack compared to the first two games and has way limited continues (two). But I enjoy it despite those facts. The double-tap makes it very fast, and the challenge just makes me keep coming back.

Sword of Vermillion. This was back when there were absolutely no RPG's on the service yet though. Not even Breath of Fire 2. I was desperate.

Yeah, asside from the annoying controls, I still hold Streets of Rage 3 to be one of the greatest beat 'em ups of all time.

I'm starting to think I was the only one who liked Sword of Vermillion. Oh well, their lose.

I know it's short, which is why a continue button would have been welcome. How hard is it to program a continue button?! (And no, I don't get paid every time I say "continue button")

And I thought it was going to be so cool. >sniff<

It's short so a continue button is unneeded. There's no continue button because they didn't want there to be one, they could've easily made a continue button.

Also it is so cool.

This isn't a silly complaint considering that most other arcade-like games that are half this length have one. This game is an hour long. That's why I said continue button instead of saves. I don't mind having to restart a 5-10 minute level (Well, not as much as restarting a whole hour-long game because I screwed up on the final boss). I'll take back the comment about it not being cool. The game IS cool. It's just there are better games out there, and I already had a lot of them. Also, one main reason for my frustration is I never grew up with games that forced you to restart after a game over. I'm still just a teenager and really have only played games with saves so I have low tollerance for forced restarts.

Thanks for being polite and not calling me names like some other guy did. > >: (How do you get an angry smiley on here?)
Oh, look up there right above this reply. someone else complaining about continues on a different game. I didn't notice that.

While I do enjoy Cruisin' USA, I've found the graphics to be rather poor (especially for an N64 title). I don't regret getting it, but it could've been just as easily released to the SNES, which would've only cost 800 points.

Well since reviews marked it as excellent, I expected excellence. Receiving something short of even mediocrity was quite aggravating.

Sin & Punishment is probably my least favorite, just because the controls are tough

Dodgeball for either NES or SNES [I can't remember]
Mario 64 was pretty repetitive also. I agree with you, sean, SM64 really was not that great to me. Sure, it's nostalgic, but the controls and cameras really got on my nerves. I also hated it when it puts you in a level [wall kicks will work? How does that help me?] and doesn't tell you anything about what you are supposed to do.
EDIT: What?! Yoshi's Story is one of the best games ever!
I forgot to mention Metroid for NES. I bought the internet channel when it was 500 points [what another waste] and I got Metroid as my free game. I think nintendo should have let you get a wiiware game if you wanted.
EDIT: I just realised that I wrote kirby 64 instead of mario 64.... facepalm
Actually, kirby 64 was a waste also.

Just let it happen.

Now that I've played Majora's Mask again, I'm not minding the time limit as much since I'm using the Inverted Song of Time.
2 1/2 hours (72 game hours, with the timer speed reduced to 1 game hour per real-time 2 minutes = 144 real minutes) is probably about as much as I'm willing to play in a sitting anyways.
As for the events resetting, it doesn't matter as much since you get to keep the items, masks and songs you learned. Owl statues function as quick-save points, but you can hit them with the sword to enable a warp point. And remember to visit the bank in West Clock Town to save your rupees (while your wallet is emptied when using the Song of Time, your bank account is saved. Even if the reverse would probably have made more sense. )

Agreed. Even though I like the game, it's overrated and was overhyped, by me even! I wasn't even hyped for Paper Mario and now it's my favorite RPG. Sometimes the lesser hyped games can turn out to be great and better than the game you were anticipating.

Just curious, what about dodgeball was so bad? I was looking at using my free NES game for it but now I'm not sure.
Most of my regrets weren't on the Virtual Console (the Internet Channel isn't all it's cracked up to be), but if there were two games that I bought and then ended up not playing (not that they're bad games, they just don't appeal to me), they were Super Mario RPG and Kirby's Dream Land 3.

I'm also regretting Sonic Chaos. I got it for nostalgia reasons (had it for Game Gear), but after playing the Genesis games, Chaos just looks bad nowadays.

Since the update to the Nintendo Channel, I've been forcing myself to play games that are the lowest on the list of records. I find myself struggling to play Sin & Punishment. Although I wouldn't call it a bad game, its not really my type of game. I only got it because of the hype surrounding it at the time.

@everyone who hated Sonic the Hedgehog Master System

I have it on Game Gear, and I've played it on an emulator and found the game enjoyable. I don't remember the game having frame rate issues. Has anyone who's downloaded it played it on another system? Is it a crappy port, or do people just not like the game? I was thinking of downloading it for convenience (though I'd prefer to download it on the DSi assuming that may one day become an option).

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

I can never get past Jungle. I always end up having very few lives/continues by the time I get there that I just can't do it.

Anyway, its not a bad game for the Master System. Don't know about the other MS Sonic games.
