Just want to give a recap of my experience at Wii Summer Games. I entered the family team competition with my kids 15,14, and 10. There were 15 wii's setup for the different events and about 8 wii's setup to earn coins stickers. The games available to earn stickers were: Mario Kart, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Just Dance. The prizes at a coin grab booth were in three different levels: 5 coins for a level 1, 8 for a level 2 and 11 coins for level 3. After registering our team, we were able to get right into the competition with no waiting. The staff was very friendly and tried to provide helpful tips. I guess they assumed that we had no or little experience on the Wii. After a practice round on NSMB Wii the guy asked my wife how long we had been practicing for this. She told him a couple of weeks. Our team did pretty good overall, we had a 2:02 in Mario Kart, 300's for NSMB Wii 5-4 coin battle and a total score above 17000. I am still waiting to see what place we ended up in, because the web site hasn't posted any results yet. We are team espada at ridgedale center for anybody that is curious. My girls enjoyed the "just dance" coin challenge best. My son just wanted to get enough coins to earn a level 3 prize. Overall a great experience and would recommend it to anyone. There is still one weekend left for anyone in the western US or close to a Great America theme park. http://www.wiigames2010.com/wii-event-leaderboards.aspx
Congrats! You and your family know how to make the most of the Wii family experience. Now if my folks were better at games. It's always fly fishing and crafting with them.
As corny as it sounds, thanks to the Wii, gaming is fun for the entire family! I had a similar experience playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii with my little cousins. They all have the Wii and each of them has a DS.
Who Dat? - that's our team name. My son & I won the Mall 4 Group in the Parent/Child category. Can't wait to get to the finals in Redondo Beach, CA! If you'd like to know more about our Wii Games: Summer 2010 experience, check out my blog: http://wiigamessummer2010.wordpress.com/
