To be honest, I'm not sure how excited I am about Mega Man 10. The games are consistently great... but I feel like 9 still has plenty of life left in it and am in no rush to pick up a new game. (Definitely want to play it eventually, but not a priority.) I wonder if Capcom will see a drop in sales numbers because of others like me, or if the popularity of MM9 will bolster sales for the sequel.
I haven't yet, no, but I imagine I will somewhere down the line.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I never got it...Was SO hyped and then it just...came out and I didn't buy it somehow. It still puzzles me.

Do you refrain from using the shop, Twilight? I remember someone telling me he thought the game was hard, but then explained he didn't use the shop because that was for wusses, haha. I haven't played 4-6 in awhile, but between 1-3 and 9, I thought 9 was by far the easiest, and this includes the easy mode for MM2!
No... I don't. But the only thing I use it for is extra lives... The only problem i'm having is the area where you need to freeze everything really fast using the Cement Shot. Even after watching a video walkthrough, I still found it difficult. XP
The only way I could finish Wilys caslte in 9 was to stock up on everything from the shop. I probably wont play it soon, but if 4 comes out soon Ill play that to warm up for it.
I ALMOST finished the final Wily incarnation without shopping, but it was just too freakin' hard. I was on that last stage without any tanks, and hadn't really used the store. Even after trying that final stage about 30 times, I just couldn't do it. He got really close to dying, but it ended up being too frustrating. It even got to the point where I could beat his other forms without taking damage, but gah... that final form & attack. So I went back to a save before the castle and stocked up, which made it pretty easy.
Gotta have those finger callouses worked in before MM10 rolls around.
Me! I've been playing through both of my versions doing various challenges for the hell of it. On the 360 I think I have about 81% of them or so. I'll probably be working on the 4 Stage special weapon one and the 50 Jump one next. On the Wii I'm kind of working on Proto Man and Superhero mode as well. (And holy CRAP Galaxy Man's stage was made really hard in Superhero mode)
Oh, and that Wily Castle part with all the lava "beams" is actually kind of easy. Equip Rush Coil and immediately use it after getting off the ladder. You should be able to reach the left-most ladder. Go up the ladder to the next screen and wait at the top for the lava beam to go through. Then, jump to the left wall and hug it as you fall. You should land on a little "ledge" on the screen below. Now equip Rush Jet, jump on top, and maneuver him a little bit down as you travel across the screen and jump on the right-most ladder, and you're basically home free!

I've beaten MM1, MM2, and [gasp] MM9 months ago. Of course I ABUSED the shop, and I managed to beat Dr. Wily without dying [but I had use all of my five precious Energy Tanks and one Mystery Tank]. Of course the Dr. Wily stages were @@$$! I still need to beat MM3, I'm currently at the Doc Robot stages, I have only three more Doc Robot stages to go!
I am on the Wily Stages in MM9. I wont pick up MM10, until I finish it where that is by day one of MM10's release or a year down the road. Either way, I am excited for more Mega Man.

I haven't really gotten into Mega Man 9 yet but I haven't put much time into it yet. Anyone have a suggestion of a good first boss to tackle? In Megaman 2 I'd usually go for Flashman or MetalMan first because they were dead easy to get out of the way.

Splash Woman and her stage is pretty easy, since she only takes 14 hits instead of 28. Also, her weapon is ridiculously useful throughout the whole game. Galaxy Man is also a good first Robot Master to tackle.
