Sega CD does have a second CPU, but it's not difficult to emulate (my old laptop which would have been about 8 years old now - rest in peace was able to emulate it just fine with freeware). The graphics processing is nowhere near as intense than what you'd see on an N64 game.
Saturn, on the other hand, is also a multiprocessor system that is very difficult to emulate. The processors on the Genesis and the Sega CD were the exact same, the Sega CD just had a lower clock rate. Maybe that's why it's easy to emulate? There are a few Sega CD games I'd love to see on VC. A DSiVC with GB/GBA games would be awesome too.
Not only that, but thanks to the increased storage capacity with SD cards now, they could even emulate the various FMV Sega CD games. A 32 gig SDHC card can easily store multiple games like Night Trap or Sewer Shark. However, if anyone would actually want to purchase and download those games on VC is another story entirely...
Why can't CDs be done? We are getting some Turbo CD games. Maybe they are smaller and didn't use all the space available?
From what I heard, Turbo CD games used most of the space for CD-quality audio, which can be easily compressed. Sega CD would be harder because I hear it added additional video hardware as well as a second CPU (unlike TGCD, where there wasn't much added besides the CD player and extra RAM).
Well, that's not entirely true. While you're right that the Turbo CD didn't add any additional processors, the games did have improved graphics thanks to the greater storage capacity and memory. This is why games like Lords of Thunder and Rondo of Blood have better graphics than the standard HuCard games do.
No mention of the 32X? I mean if you want sega games that NOBODY has played, wouldn't that be the console to go after? I could go for the VC having Knuckles Chaotics... or Arcade StarWars.
Mega-CD and 32X would be nice, already own both add ons but still a few games on each I'd like to try, one thing though, many of the games are also available on megadrive and SNES, though often with improvements such as better audio on mega-CD, not that duplicating games on VC hasn't happened already mind you, besides I'm sure its the exclusives most would be interested in, Eternal Champions 2 would be an instant download for me.

Yeah, but the Wii still has to move the game from the SD card to the hard drive to play them. A lot has been done in the world of compression since the Sega CD came out though, so I can't imagine anything on the Sega CD couldn't be done. It would just mean companies would have to feel it's worth it to develop the emulator and do the compression.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery

Not anymore. With the latest Wii system update, it can now run games directly off the SD card.
Oh, and the Wii doesn't have an internal hard drive. It has internal flash memory. Believe me, if it had an internal drive, it would have a lot more built in memory.

Quite right but I don't even think compression will be an issue at all. The FMV on the Mega CD is of such a low quality (remember it only used the Megadrive's colour pallete), small size and generally limited to only 20 minutes per disc that it'd probably only even take up a fraction of the space most WiiWare and N64 titles use.
Remember Dragon's Lair was released on the DSi - that's just as much video as any Mega CD game and is downloadable on a smaller, less powerful format. Anyway it's not the FMV games we should really be asking for - it's Final Fight CD, Sonic CD and Snatcher!

That's not actually the case, though it appears to be. In fact the system is doing a background copy from SD to internal flash; you'll find that consecutive plays of the same game from SD are faster because it's in internal memory, the fact is just hidden from you. When you load another game from SD it overwrites the previous one. The copy is pretty quick, but it's still not running the game directly off the SD card.
In addition to what I said about Saturn, I'd put in a vote for Sega CD...I mean, the only good games were Sonic and a handful of others, but it could be worthwhile. Also, 32X had at least a handful of good games, so I'd say put that on there.
Dear Sega and Nintendo: a Sonichu game would totally rock, make it happen! Backloggery
maybe i missed it but i didn't notice anyone mention coleco-vision. i particularly liked the game, venture.
Venture is fun, but the arcade original is better than the Colecovision port. I like my CV, but it's main selling point was "near arcade-perfect gaming", so most of its games (and almost all the good ones) were good, but not perfect, arcade ports. Might as well get them for the VCA.

Oh, I see. Thanks for clarifying Sean. I guess I'm easily fooled.
Well, you can get Space Invaders already and it's arcade-perfect including choice of overlays, so I strongly recommend "Space Invaders: The Original Game" (nice title) if you're a fan of the game.
The Jaguar had a few nice original games. I'd really like to see Iron Soldier, Iron Soldier 2 (if Jag CD could be emulated and fit in the download limit), Tempest 2000, Defender 2000. If 3rd party stuff could be included then I'd add Ruiner Pinball (one of HVS's earliest console efforts) and Wolfenstein 3D (I'd actually rate this over the PC version).
