Geez, I wish it would. It's SO much better than the stupid NES version. Given the ever-increasing number of games with multiple versions on VC, it IS possible...but none of the "multiple-versions" games is from Nintendo (even though they SHOULD have started putting up their own classic arcade games by now), so I don't know how that affects the liklihood.

I hope so. It always looked like a fun little puzzler, but I want to play the superior version. Knowing Nintendo recent reputation for releasing several versions of the same game on VC, though, this might not be too far behind.
As I said in the other thread: I love both the NES and SNES versions of Wario's Woods. The SNES version certainly has fancier graphics and more play modes, but there is much that doesn't overlap from the NES, like the boss fights and the different "cutscene" screens in the main mode. I'd also say that the timing is different, and the NES one almost feels a bit snappier somehow, probably due to less lengthy animations for your different actions. The NES version is certainly worthy of a download if you're hesitating. I play the SNES one on the Wii as well using other means, but will happily buy it if they get around to releasing it properly.
Sadly Nintendo don't seem interested in releasing their duplicate games on the Virtual Console. If they had, we should have saw Yoshi's Cookie and Wario's Woods on the SNES by now.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
To be honest I never knew there was a SNES version. I love Wario's Woods on the NES, it provides a unique spin on puzzlers I haven't seen before. If the SNES version does come out I'd certainly show it my support.
@Bass X0: They don't seem to be in any rush to release their NON-duplicate games on VC, so I wouldn't say there's any real proof we won't get Wario's Woods and Yoshi's Cookie eventually.

Anyways, never was into puzzle games (except Tetris, if that counts), so I don't really care about this. It is surprising that Nintendo hasn't released its lesser, unknown titles before the big million sellers. I guess that gamers too "High Class" for little name titles.

I think BPS retained the programming rights to Yoshi's Cookie for SNES. I am not sure if they still exist (haven't published a game since about 2001). (Back when it was released in spring 1993, Nintendo Power reported that Nintendo had only bought the 8-bit rights to the game. It had started out as a game called Hermetica, and was presumably unrelated to Mario.)
Wario's Woods is a great, highly playable, addicting and unique action-puzzler. I have the NES version on Animal Crossing for Gamecube, but I will get the SNES version when it comes out on VC.
Well, it could be a REALLY long wait, assuming it ever comes at all. If you're really interested in the game and haven't played either version before, you'll probably like the NES version okay. To me, it's garbage, but I was already used to the SNES version from years of play.

The NES version is one of the worst puzzle games I ever played, total waste of points.
Reala has just lost the right to bear that username. As if you ever did, with that Journey of Dreams insult as your avatar. I hope you know you've brought upon yourself the wrath of Wario. NES Wario's Woods is awesome, the SNES version is not superior (especially as far as music goes), and for your foolishness, I hereby sentence you to 50 hours of Yoshi so you can learn what a bad puzzle game and a waste of points really is.
Have fun matching up goomba's, boo's, blooper's, and piranha plant's and sandwiching them in eggs. You'll be begging to play Wario's Woods in no time, I promise. cue evil laugh
