Topic: The Sega Sales

Whoa, I'm glad I read this. I've got 1000 wii points that have been burning a hole in my pocket! Now that i know Puyo Puyo 2 is only single player, Gunstar and Streets of Rage 2 it is! Thank You OP and everyone who has commented on it to keep it easy to find!

I bought Sonic 2. I had been wanting it for awhile, but 800 seemed like too much. The sale pushed me over and I took the plunge. The music was even better than I remembered!

From the sales I had Gunstar Heroes alreay for 800pts.

I downloaded Sonic 1 2 3 and Shining Force from the sales today.

I don't think I want Golden Axe, Streets of Rage 2 or Altered Beast.

No problem, SOR 2 is also 50Hz but has some evidence of optimisation, music speed is correct and I think the gameplay speed is also about right. Still has boarders though.
Trying to boot the PAL cartridge version in 60Hz doesn't work unless you also change the Megadrive region to Japan, so I assume this game was slightly 'fixed' for its 50Hz incarnation.

I like to get at least something from this sale. I thought of SOR but can get on comp (SF would have been good but same thing), GSH and TJAE but one is on xboxlive and the other coming soon(could get them when the day comes that i finally get a 360. The only other one that may be an option is puyo puyo: tsu. I'm not sure about getting it though.

Can you get Puyo Puyo 2 anywhere else? Comps or 9thers?

@longtimegamer: No, you can't...at least, not that I know of. Probably not, since it's an import title to begin with. Of course, you CAN get Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine in collections, but I think that was based on Puyo Puyo ONE. Not sure what the practical gameplay differences are, though.

I'm thinking this sale might be a way for SEGA to gauge their price point on their games. 800 points is too much for ANY Genesis/MD game considering I can still get the originals at most for 12-15 bucks and that's for Phantasy Star IV. If they drop to 500 points everyday I might pick a few up but the ones they had on sale I already have except for Puyo 2 and that doesn't interest me at all.

I decided to get Puyo puyo 2, Toejame and Earl and Gunstar heroes(I have a case for this, but don't know if i have the game). TJAE may or may not come out on xbox live. I wont have an 360 for awhile (plus you have to pay to get online) so I said heck with it. Figured I didn't have much time to decide and I wanted to play Gunstar Heroes (Don't think I ever have. even though I have the box, don't know if it ever hsd the game in it. Would have liked SOR2 but can get on comp.

Boy that Puyo Puyo 2 is kickin my butt. on 3rd level (i think) and every time i get beat. Even if i seemed to be kickin their butt, they'll suddenly just stomp me into the ground.

Thanks to this sale I picked up Sonic 1 on Monday and I now have all 3 classic Sonic games on my Wii console.
I was debating over PP2 and TJ&E but I ended up deciding against the latter, and as for the former, I felt Sonic 1 was more important.

Yeah...the Puyo Pop series is darned good at that. That's why I'm not really much of a fan.

I ended up downloading ToeJam & Earl and Puyo Puyo 2, but also drunkenly dowloaded Gunstar Heroes (which I've had on Mega Drive for years) and Sonic 3 (which I must own about 200 different versions of).

I only bought Sonic 1, I spent a lot of money on the Steam sale and since I'm really playing too many games at the moment it didn't make much sense to spend more on a couple of more games that will probably be there occupying space on the Wii for months until I actually pick them up to play it. Great sale though. Another reason why my love for Sega is reassured.
