Too bad The Revenge of Shinobi wasn't on sale, that is the one Sega game I want to download.

The chickens are restless.

The excuse is the emulation is terrible on the XBLA (and PSN) versions of all Sega games.

What's wrong with the emulation of the Sega classics on XBLA?. How many of them do you own?. What's your gamertag?. I am going to check what games you got.

Hello i have a problem with Puyo Puyo 2 wich i had downloaded yesterday. The problem is that the game isnt working with a component cable, even the description says that it support the interlace mode.

@Nintendo-64 I don't have the game or know if you have a bunch of other games that do work, but the default for my Wii as purchased was that interlace mode was turned off. If you have never activated it, the instructions may be found here:

Might not help, but just a suggestion!

I would also like to know what the problem supposedly is. If you're referring to the stupid "smoothing" mode they employ, it should be noted that this "feature" can be turned off in the menus. Other than that, the games are BETTER on PS360 because they upscale nicely and tend to have online modes and the like. Plus, their regular price is the same as this SALE price.

My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

Just got the Genesis collection on XBOX 360 for less than the cost of three Genesis games on sale on the VC

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Can they just fix this damn component cable problem? It's absolutely ridiculous that official cables don't work on all games when a simple update is all that is required for all games to work. I mean take Sonic 1 for example - I can play the game in 50hz, just like the original PAL game, on Sonic Mega Collection through the component cables but the VC version wont work at all. All games should work through the component cables - we've paid for them, Nintendo need to sort it.

Sonic 1 doesnt work with the component cable? It works with my component cable without any problems. But try to activate the interlace mode just go into the manual of the game and press A+Z+2 simultaniously. You should hear a sound if you did it right. It was a problem for me,too.

I snagged the same from Tesco for £15! It's a great collection of retro games, although the collectionist in me is saddened by the fact that my Master System and Mega Drive games are now spread over VC, 360 and my original SMS console!!

Currently Playing: -
Wii - New Super Mario Bros. Wii, A Boy and His Blob
DSi XL - Scribblenauts
WW - Phoenix Wright
VC -
360 - Mass Effect 2

I picked mine up of play.com for £10 second hand. i was planning on buying it sometime anyway but for £10, I couldn't say no.

The advantage that the VC has though, is a good D-pad. I have Sonic Mega Collection for my Gamecube, but I'm thinking about getting the 3 Sonic games for VC anyway because of the Wii Remote's vastly superior d-pad (rather than the Gamecube's awkwardly small one). I suppose if I plan to do it, before January 6th would be the best time...

Or find a Hori SNES style pad for the Gamecube... Those PAL 50Hz VC versions are poor. Toejam and Earl is even worst - no component support!

Are you saying that Sonic Mega Collection is 60Hz while the Virtual Console is only 50Hz? I hadn't thought of that.
Those Hori controllers are quite hard to come by, although I do have a PS2-GC controller adapter which is good. I can never be bothered busting it out just to play Sonic though. That's why I was attracted to the VC versions.

So, is Shining Force worth a download? What about Sonic 2?

@IncognitoD I am indeed, Sonic on the VC is 50Hz in PAL regions, squashed graphics, slower gameplay and slower music.

Mega collection version has a 50/60Hz option and also includes the Japanese '2' revision of the game accessible with a code (with parallax scrolling on all levels and the spike bug fixed - as also appeared in Sonic Jam on the Saturn).

Yeah, I've had my Hori pad for ages and its great to use with the VC and gamecube Resident Evil games (except 4 as you'd guess!)

Thanks for the tip-off Ristar. Looks like just Streets of Rage 2 for me in that case.

Yes, and yes.
Actually, other than Altered Beast, all of these are absolutely worth your money.

I had most of these already, but this is a good opportunity to pick up SoR2.

For anyone who has Sonic 3, has anyone been able to activate the level select cheat?

Belive me, it's more easy to unlock the zone selection on a saved game, by beating the game, than input the Sonic 3 (no S&K) level code that needs useless training and practice since you can only input the code in a really small amout of time.
...
Just pass the game, it's more fun :3
