I really don't see what the big problem is here. Sending a bunch of e-mails that will just get you an automated reply because Nintendo probably can't answer EVERY e-mail that they get every day, it just seems pointless.
Maybe they are focusing on WiiWare now to help boost sales for it. Knowing Nintendo, you know that they try to put the utmost effort into making every platform its best. That's probably why they are trying to get more big games on WiiWare so that it stands up to the Virtual Console's library and people have a large selection. There are many more hits on Virtual Console than on WiiWare, so I think it's only fair that Virtual Console steps aside for a couple weeks and lets WiiWare take the spotlight for once. I honestly don't think Virtual Console is gone forever. It has only been two weeks. Not a month. If it was a month I'd be a little worried. There are many games on there you can buy, and you obviously can't forget the awesome retail games. I like the Virtual Console alot as well, but I'm not complaining every time we go without it a couple weeks.
That's probably the reason why they're haven't been any VC Games for the last Two Weeks.
I wonder if Nintendo of America solely make their marketing and financial decisions on American consumer results, or do they also look at Japan's, Europe's and Australia's statistics. I just think they should be more concerned about our needs. Because right now, they're selling out loyal nintendo fans for casual gamers.
Casual gaming saved the wii from GC style obscurity, like it or loathe it casual gaming is here to say, as for Nintendo abandoning core gamers, I just say look at what was confirmed at E3.

I can't say I'm looking forward to the the new super mario bros wii and super mario galaxy 2 mainly because they're too similar to the originals with tiny enhancements. The new zelda game looks like crap, the metroid game looks like it might be disapointing, and maybe the only game I'm looking forward to SO FAR is Golden Sun. I know there are games I'm forgetting about, but the most hyped ones aren't looking too good.

Of course they look at each region, and that's why release dates are different and VC/WiiWare releases are different. It's all about what sells in what area. As someone who has been around since the 8-bit days, their priority is Japan, it always has been, always will be. For the most part, with the exception of FPS, Japan is the testing ground for most games.
Also, your last statement is a little personal considering just two posts later you said you're not looking forward to most of the core games Nintendo is putting out and then saying you're preparing to be let down by Metroid. Nintendo isn't selling us out for anything. They're giving long time Nintendo fans everything in regards to their core characters, it's just personal preference that you don't like them...maybe sold you out, but not long time Nintendo fans who've understood what they're about for over 25 yrs.
I have never played a bad Zelda game, so even though the train looks out of place I'm more than prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt, also its a new 2D Mario on wii, exactly the kind of thing any core gamer should want to play, I do not see any problem with those games at all, Galaxy 2 Im sure will be fun and probably better than its prequel, and that's just from Nintendo.

On the contrary, I'm a huge fan of metroid, mario and zelda. But these games seem to come out short due to no new major in enhancements. I'll no doubt play them and like them, but it's a little bit of a let down that they wouldn't go the next level. And I'm not saying the gaming of Metroid:project m looks bad, but the plot is getting dull. And the link game is an obvious statement about the out of place train featured in the game.

Exactly. There is absolutely nothing to worry about regarding the VC at this moment.
You know, I do quite expect Super Smash Bros. to have been released by now. I'm not disappointed since we already have it here but I do agree it should have been released by now.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
I finally got a response from my contact at the NoE support desk on the topic of the demise of the VC (long since proven false).
Here's what he had to say:
I can tell you that Virtual Console is far from dead here in Europe however we currently limit ourselves to a maximum of four releases in total per week to allow for each title to get the exposure they deserve. WiiWare has become very popular with our 3rd party developers so in some ways yes Virtual Console has taken a bit of a back seat whilst we get the large number of Wiiware titles out there.
One thing that I can say is that in the coming months there will be one or two long awaited Virtual console games added, or so I hear from my colleague in ****** who refuses to tell me more.
@Sean Aaron: Can you find out why the hell Nintendo of Japan is the only region that DOESN'T have a retarded rule about giving titles the exposure they "deserve?"

Heh, no clue, man -- maybe there's no real competition for WiiWare in Japan so NoJ doesn't feel like they need to keep the devs sweet by giving them the limelight?
@Sean- That was interesting. I guess this could be the reason for NOA's 1 a week vc releases. It still blows that we only get one a week (and Europe 2 every other).
I have downloaded 29 VC games lol. 11 WiiWare. All I would like to see is a little more N64 games but its not something thats going to kill off my gaming on the Wii. Its a helluva lot better service than was available when I was a kid.
I'm curious to what the likes of Crash 'n the Boys being released in America means to us in Europe since it was never released here so we have to wait for a Hanabi Festival. Will we be getting some other game or go without one again for a few weeks?

So, in response to the reply Sean Aaron recieved from NOE, basically what I'm hearing is that, even though Europe already has Smash Bros AND Pilotwings, you guys can still expect a couple more Major titles by year end... WHAT THE HELL ABOUT NORTH AMERICA NINTENDO?! It seems to me that Nintendo, as in their own classic titles, has completely dropped support in America. In fact, Majora's Mask being released here in May, this has been the longest period of time that Nintendo hasn't released one of their own published titles on the North American Virtual Console and no sign of any release of these games in the near future. Honestly that worries me quite a bit and no amount of mediocre Star Wars games is going to make up for those Nintendo branded games being omitted from our library.
Future Wii purchases: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid: Other M Zelda Wii New Super Mario Bros. Wii Sin and Punishment 2
@Rapadash6: I don't think those titles have been omitted. Sure it has been a while since Nintendo released a first party title on VC, however I feel like they are waiting until fall when sales go up for video games.

How does it make sense to wait to release games until people are spending their money on other games? Nintendo used to say that the VC would get better releases when retail releases were slow...but that's obviously not been the case this year.
