Which aspects of the Zelda games we already know should it keep and which should it drop?
keep:
Pieces of heart. Epona. Master Sword. Goofy characters and sidequests in towns. The great zelda soundtrack. 3rd person perspective.
Drop:
Playing or howling melodies. Transforming into an animal. Traveling by boat or train. Town, hyrule field, dungeon structure ( I want an open world with a fluid transition between towns, hyrulefield and dungeons ). Switching between two alternate worlds. Fishing.
I believe some changes need to be made to make sure the next zelda isn't going to be an Ocarina Of Time clone. Don't get me wrong, i love Twilight princess and it deserves a 10 out of 10 to my opinion, but its time for something new. Otherwise that 10 may turn into a 9.
You're on the wrong site fella, they hate Twilight Princess here.
/me revisits the rage brought about by that 8. Graaaaaagh!
I can't do conjecture regarding Zelda, sorry. I'll just wait and see. :/ I know this thread is gonna upset me, as people state their desire to remove all the elements I love.
Come on, its just speculation. Its fine and great if u want to keep all the elements it has now. Eventually Nintendo knows best and they will make a great game.

The reason I crossed out the boat section is because I wouldn't mind using a boat to, per say, travel to some tiny Islands that revolved around one main Island where all the important events took place.

As long as they don't make it into a Final Fantasy clone, I'm sure it will be awesome. (Although a Zelda game sort of like Super Mario RPG would be great as long as it's not the "canon" Zelda they are doing)
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
@RWP I believe Machu was referring to the NL review here and may have been over exaggerating the 'Hate' aspect slightly . TBH as I'm currently playing Spirit tracks and loving every minute it reminds me of why I loved Zelda games in the first place. The humour and 'colourful' characters!! These were sorely missing in TP IMO. I think Nintendo dropped the ball on this one because of the (stupid) outrage that ensued after Wind Waker was first revealed and desperately tried to please the minority by creating a more 'mature' Zelda. I for one did not like what they did with it. I would like to see them get back to what made the series great in the first place so I don't mind if they keep all the old conventions of a Zelda game as long as they don't make it too serious and po faced ,which TP was (not that it was a bad game per se, but it just didn't resonate with me like previous entries have done). Can't wait to see what they do with the next one though.
@RWP: They know who they are. And they will be here at some point I imagine.
Apologies to Nintenden for my early behaviour. All I want from the next Zelda is... more of the same, but with an even prettier, even more expansive world, filled with NPC's that you can interact with, and no wolf please. Just a sword, a shield, cool items, some magic, lots of baddies contained within amazing and mind boggling temples, all topped off with the most epic finale we have ever seen in gaming. Simple.
And 1000 Golden Skulltulas to keep me busy beyond the end.
EDIT: @L78: I have never over exaggerated and never will, ever, in the entire history of the universe, never.
I think the music playing is a nice idea but it shouldn't be too tedious and have a nice twist to it. That "twist" was certainly there in the last one, where you had to blow in the microphone but that's not something you can do on Wii and it still was tedious to get things right..
