I remember having trouble with Babs' Big Break when I first got it when I was like 9, though I can't recall specific trouble points.
Two continues seemed like such a harsh limit (though I know the Japanese version had passwords).
It was the second game I got for the Game Boy, which was the only system beside the SNES that I had as a kid (and subsequently extensively played).
Now though, I played it a couple years ago and beat it without trouble on both normal and hard (after beating the game, you restart the game but start each level with only 1 heart).
Kid Dracula was another game I never finished as a kid, yet I played it again as an adult and beat it without a sweat.
My platform experience at the time? Super Mario World (100%, though admittedly it's not the hardest game), Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts (probably couldn't beat level 2), Smartball (I'm actually worse at this now. Bigger fingers are a hinderance), Joe & Mac (I think I finished it on normal), Super Castlevania IV (about half the game. Level 8 is when it starts getting evil.)

That aside, I find it difficult to believe that Montana's Movie Madness is better than Buster Busts Loose under ANY circumstances.

Oh, Buster Busts Loose is definitely an excellent game, and I can certainly see people preferring that over Movie Madness. Personally, I'll have to give Madness the edge here, but it's a close call. I strongly advise trying to find Movie Madness on ebay and giving it another go - it's a really really good game.

The Japanese version of Movie Madness is easier, by the way. Sadly, instead of tossing some more lives and hearts at you, they severely reduced the difficulty of the actual stages, cutting and simplifying stuff all over the place, so the end result is an easier, but bastardized game. Still good, and might be preferable for those who found the original difficulty level a real turn-off (it WAS hard, it really was), but you're missing out on some great level design you really shouldn't be missing out on by playing it.

There is this one Tiny Toon Adventures: Wacky Sports Challenge that I played at my cousin's house on the Game Boy Pocket years ago. It was fun, I recall. Years later, I learned of the SNES version of it. Although, from what I saw of the screenshots, it looks a tad different.

To each their own

I'm shocked no one has mentioned Looney Tunes B-Ball for SNES. Ridiculously fun basketball game.
I'm surprised that Nintendo hasn't made a similar basketball game with Mario and co. Could be quite fun.

Like Mario Hoops 3 on 3, you mean?
