A new Tecmo Bowl is being released (http://www.gametrailers.com/game/tecmo-bowl-throwback/12919) but it seems to be exclusive to PS3/360. Why not porting it to the Wii as the game hardly needs much graphics output? This is really a shame.
Kickoff probably didn't do so well sales wise, I'd assume they lumped in Wii interest with DS sales. Also, the newer ones coming out for XBLA/PSN are not going to allow customizable stats which is a downgrade from Kickoff.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
It was supposed to be on the Wii originally but they changed it to some BS "Family Football" or something and it completely flopped so now they're putting it on XBL/PSN with the brand name help and for a fraction of the price and I expect a comment about how the Wii market isn't right for stuff like Tecmo Bowl.
Expect something similar to happen with NBA Jam when people will pick the cheap download version rather the overpriced(because it's EA) Wii version.

I love TSB so much I had to create account and join the thread. It really is a shame there isn't a throwback game coming to the wii. Perhaps even a greater shame is NFL's exclusive license. I would much rather play an updated game of TSB than any recent Madden
@Hambone: I have Kickoff for the DS, you can customize team names, individual player names and numbers, playbook and stats. One day, I will complete my dream of customizing it to have the most current Super Bowl Championship team for each franchise or the closest a team has made it in a season.
I like Kickoff. While it doesn't have any real players due to EA Sports' outright ownership of the NFLPA, it has that nostalgic feel of the old Tecmo games.
