It would be better, if you prefer games with fewer characters. But the reason they would do 2 first, if they release it at all, is because it was the only one released on SNES. I don't think we'll ever see the arcade games. Most arcade titles on VCA are from an earlier period of arcade games.
Hardly what I'd call "godawful." Not great, certainly, but anyone who'd call this "godawful" apparently didn't play the Alpha games on Playstation, either. This version has a really awkward pause after the announcer yells "FIGHT!" but if you add up all the load times for one match, I'd guess it's actually slightly less than the load times for Street Fighter Alpha on Playstation (I haven't played the sequel).

Not as bad as I thought. Still don't want it this year though. I can't stand Street Fighter.

The game was meant to have a special chip put into it that they took out in the end for cost purposes. Still decent but not the real version they were going to make.
Aside from load times / graphics / sound quality and other superficial stuff, are there any ramifications this chip's removal had on the actual game? Not that I'm trying to undercut the impact these things can have on a good game, but as long as it plays like the Alpha series is supposed to play, I will be happy enough. I assume at least all the same characters made it?
EDIT: You know Cheetahman, you could always not buy it if it comes out this year.

It did have the special chip (S-DD1, also used in Star Ocean). And yet it still had noticable load time. So, it'd still take awhile if ever to show up on VC.

Uhh, ok.
So does Ninty have some goofy policy of not allowing arcade games in the VCA that're originally made after a certain date? According to System 16, the maximum size of CPS2 games were around 322 mb, downloadable games on the Wii Shop Channel have a file size limit of 340 mb so the storage issue for CPS2 games is pretty much nonexistant.
I am just commenting on the obvious trend in VCA releases. Nintendo clearly has more stock in seeing games released on their consoles anyway, as they make a percentage off of these games. Whether or not they have an actual rule about this, how would either of us know?
Street Fighter Alpha games have always had a good soundtrack but the SNES version just does not sound right to me. I may skip this version and hope for a VCA release one day.
The game looks like a really good port of the arcade visual wise. It's possible there might not be the same load times with the Wii since it doesn't have some of the same limitations of the SNES speed wise.
