Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

You could get Gravitronix...or you can wait for HooktOnGraviphonix...it should be out in 3-5 years. On a serious notes, if you're in the mood for something Zelda-ey, get ST. If you want something RPG-ey, get FF. If you want a kind of awkward attempt at beat em up RPG with odd balance issues, I'd recommend (but not really...) RCR.

Whatever you do don't get River City Ransom. "if you're in the mood for something Zelda-ey, get ST. If you want something RPG-ey, get FF" I'm not a fan of FF but this is very true.

or will i now understand the stroy at all in 2 if i havent played 1
Understand it, yes. It's pretty straight-forward, and though it does assume you've completed the first game, it generally explains things well enough that you can make out what you're supposed to know. It does, however, completely spoil the story of the first game, so it's strongly advised you play them in order.

nope havent played either of them i was born in the n64 era lol
Yeah, I figured. Just telling you not to play Startropics 2 until you've beaten Startropics 1 if you don't want the whole plot of the first game spoiled.

hmmm i think i'm gonna go with final fantasy but i have a question for you! about how long is your averge playthrough also is their lots of secrets in this game also since this is a fff its not liner right cause their some that are ex: ffx was very
Average playthrough... hard to say. Depends on understanding of the game, party, and first time through, how much trial-and-error it takes to find the correct solution to certain things, as well as how quick you figure out the puzzles.
Not much in the way of secrets, really - there's only one (the secret shopping quarter) that should really count, since most everything else that's optional is so straight-in-your-face you can't miss it.
FF1 is for the most part relatively linear. Roughly 1/3rd through the game, a ton of places become "accessible", but things still needs to be done in the right order, for the most part. It's still the least linear game in the series, though. FF5 and FF6 both become very open towards the end, but instead of having things that can be done in any order, you instead get access to a giant world with the final boss at the end of a huge dungeon in one area, and a ton of sidequest areas elsewhere, most of which you should probably do.
I'm not saying Final Fantasy is a bad game, but unless you really want to play through the NES version of the game specifically I recommend Startropics. You are likely to be able to get your hands on one of the FF re-releases for the same price without having to wait on this incredibly old game engine. Its like driving on the Autobahn in a tractor. If you have a GBA you can probably find FF1&2 Advanced used for the same price as this release and have yourself extra content as well as FF2, which I enjoyed more than FF. FF1+FF2=3 for the price of FF1 on the VC.
