With that Smash stage... Every game in the series is represented somehow except SPM. The original didn't get a section but the whale cameos in the TTYD section. And the worst game in the series Sticker Star is trumping them all with hands-down the most content. Since SPM was my favorite and Sticker Star felt like a slap in the face to fans of SPM's awesome story, I'm kinda disappointed that they seem to be ignoring SPM but giving Sticker Star special treatment. I love the first two games as well, but SPM always was my favorite ever since I played it, because it had such a memorable story with characters I just loved the most out of the series. Especially Dimentio and Count Bleck, they were awesome. Why does Nintendo have something against SPM? Is it the different art style?

I was anxious to find out if it got a section in the smash stage, and then I got the JP version of Smash 4 today, and lo and behold TWO sticker star sections and one TTYD section with a PM64 cameo. That leaves SPM with nothing. It seems like SPM is in the unfortunate position of the one everyone hated before Sticker Star, so Nintendo sees sticker star as an "apology" for SPM which was tons better anyway. They shouldn't have to apologize for a great game, the only haters were butthurt it wasn't a carbon copy of the first two. Well you got your turn-based Paper Mario, and it sucks. Stop hating on the one that tried to change things up while keeping the series traditions, because look what happened. [/rant]

Yeah another thing that bothers me is that every Paper Mario trophy in the game only describes Sticker Star. Even Paper Luigi....whose role was nonexistent in Sticker Star while being a main character in Super Paper Mario.

Ouch, that stings. I felt the same way about how Animal Crossing for GameCube was snubbed in favor of Wild World in Brawl.

...I'm sorry. My brain had to fully process how much that didn't make sense. I mean, Luigi only appears in Sticker Star in the backgrounds and end credits. That's like Luigi's trophy description listin SMRPG as a game he appeared in. Anyways, this really sucks. I actually really liked Super Paper Mario.

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

Same here. Though, I understand why Nintendo picked Wild World over the original.

It was the better choice (or easier), for stage design. It was also the more recent installment. Oh, and City Folk's development cycle.

It makes sense for the handheld stage to be more heavily influenced by the handheld game (even if sticker star was the worst in the franchise). Perhaps the Wii U version will show SPM some more love.

I really hope they do a stage on Wii U version that focuses on Paper Mario 64 and SPM. With two sections for each, unlike the horribly biased one in SSB3DS that gives TTYD one but Sticker Star two. The only thing that makes me doubt this is that if Paper Mario gets a stage on each version it wouldn't make sense for Mario & Luigi to not get a stage. But it would only be on 3DS since M&L is handheld exclusive. Since it's not, I am getting this sinking feeling that there won't be any Mario RPG content on Wii U.
