It was only $20 at Gamestop, and everybody seems to be calling it one of the greatest platformers of all time, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Worth every penny. The voice acting is irritiating, and the story is ridiculous, but the gameplay is incredibly charming and fun, and the worlds are surprisingly well designed, well polished, and all around beautiful. I've only played a few levels so I'm not sure if it's all-time-great material just yet, but I'm certainly hooked and I can see why people love it so much. The level of charm here is just outrageous. This is why I love the Wii--you just don't get games like this on other consoles (except the original playstation of course)

The music is also amazing. especially near the end of the game. One of my favorite Wii titles and platformers of all time, The worlds are beautiful and surreal, and the music gives the game alot of atmosphere, it's really dreamy ;p

My only complaint is that i wish it was alittle more difficult, but that aside it's a 10/10 for me.

Yo Turtle,
You give those perfect 10's away easily man.

lol...You really gotta stop with the 'Yo turtle' it got stale the second time you said it buddy.
As for giving away perfect 10's easily....No, not really. it's just because i'm always talking about my favorite games on the wii.. You wanna talk about dissapointments? Deadly Creatures and HOTD: Overkill are two mediocre titles that we're totaly overrscored...not that they received amazing reviews, just saying.

Anyways, The only real 10's on the Wii right now for me are >

Wario land Shake it!
Metroid Prime 3
Super Mario galaxy
Klonoa
Mega Man 9

Punch-Out!!, Zack & Wiki, Super Paper Mario, SSB Brawl and LostWinds are pretty damn close as well, but I'd nail all of those with a 9.
World of Goo! was another great one and I had a blast playing Castlevania ReBirth, although it's not one of the best in the franchise, definitly beats II: Simon's Quest ;p But SC IV and CIII are the better games.

You're giving an unreleased game a 10. I'd say that's pretty generous.

Yo turtle!
You are wrong, i used to say: listen up turtle.
So all these games have no obvious room for improvement and are genre defining?

No game is perfect, you could say any game needs room for improvement. a 10 doesn't mean 'perfect'
I'm a big retro nut, mega man 9 made me feel like i was 6 again, totaly delivered and more, Klonoa was fantastic and Wario Land Shake it! was just amazing. Metroid Prime 3 blew me away with it's amazing controls, engaging gameplay, beautiful worlds and so on. Mario Galaxy is a no brainer, yet it's the weakest 10 on my list suprisingly.

Awesome, Kid_A! I hope you enjoy the whole game; I sure know that I did! =D There's even extra challenges after you finish the main story if you wanna try for somethin' a bit harder or a little different.

I loved the characters in this game, and I have to say I enjoyed the story. I think I enjoyed the journey itself that I got to take with the characters moreso than the overarching story, but anyway, I loved it. The gameplay is really fun. I enjoyed the game so much that I made four levels after it on LittleBigPlanet! =)

You gotta let me know what your final impression for this game is. It's one of my all time favorites. 10/10.

I certainly will. I'll be doing a review of it soon for Gameobserver.com and if it keeps up the quality you'd better believe it'll be a positive one

I'll make the purchase when I stumble across it for a good price. Congrats on your find.

The way I understand it, the gibberish is the original PS1 voice track. They also use samples of it in the GBA game Klonoa: Empire of Dreams (not as good as the Wii game of course, but totally worth the $3 I paid for it at GameStop).

I haven't seen a copy of Klonoa at me GameStop in quite a while. Could just be 'cause I'm not there as often as I'd prefer, or we just sold out quickly and never really got restocked; I'm not sure. As far as I know, the game didn't sell too well OVERALL, which is a real shame. I wanted to see them remake the PS2 sequal, and maybe even make a NEW game after that!

My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

Oh, yeah! That's somethin' else that I forgot to mention. The voice-acting in particular didn't bother me, however; I do feel that some lines are better delivered in the gibberish language. Some parts are more emotional with the gibberish, rather than the English VA. What I did was play the game once using gibberish, then I played it a second time using the English VA. =) (And all subsequent playthroughs were flip-flopped. =P)
