Topic: Should I get these games for my birthday?

I'm considering getting these Wii games for my birthday in two months. Most got mixed reviews. Can you guys recommend which ones I should get, and which I shouldn't?

Oh, and consider these two things;
1. Most of these are shooters, and I really like shooters.
2. Disregard price in your opinion, as I'm getting these for my birthday.

-Metroid Prime Trilogy (will be out when my birthday hits)
-Castle of Shikigami III
-Twin Strike: Operation Thunder
-Disney's Chicken Brutus: Ace in Action (is it different enough than the DS version to warrant me getting both?)
-Arcade Shooter: Illvelo (will be out when my birthday hits)
-Little King's Story

Games I no longer want:
-The Monkey King
-Saint
-Counter Force
-Battle Rage

Ummmmm.... GET THE METROID PRIME TRILOGY! Also get Castle of Shikigami III, both are great in my opinion!

I'll say get Metroid Prime Trilogy. That way you get three games in one.

If you don't have the Prime games already, Trilogy wouldn't be bad since you're not paying for it. Shikigami III is super de duper, so definitely get that.

I don't even know what the other ones are, so maybe. I'm sure that was very helpful.

Never played a Metroid game in depth before. Trilogy will be my first.

I would get the Trilogy and/or 1000/2000 Wii Points (for shooters)

I agree. Get Trilogy and a points card. You can buy Star Soldier R and Gradius Rebirth with it.

Star Soldier R? Hell no. As much as I love shooters, I'm not getting it. Two levels is a deal breaker for me. (And I'd still be spending points, so don't tell me that I'm not paying for anything.)

Gradius Rebirth is a possibility.

EDIT: I watched the reviews, too. I no longer want 3 of those 4 games. I'll update my list accordingly.

Ouch, those reviews (aside from Shikigami) are not too positive. I'd avoid those. They look just as bad as the reviewer claims. I didn't find Shikigami nearly as hard as he said, but he enjoyed it regardless, and I certainly did.

Getting points cards for shoot em ups is a good suggestion, too, if you don't already have most of them.

Gradius Rebirth isn't that bad. It's the only Gradius I've ever beaten, so I give it props for that. The best downloadable shooters on Wii are easily the ones on VC, though, not WW... At least until Life Force Rebirth comes out, if ever.

Metroid Prime Trilogy = yes. You might also consider Dawn of Discovery. I just got it today and I've already fallen in love with it.

That Battle Rage game always looked cheap to me...I would stick with Nintendo and get Metroid.

If you want a good mech fighter, Overturn (WiiWare) looks like a good choice.

I already have Overturn.

Definently the Metroid Prime Trilogy or Little King's Story (haven't tried it yet).
I haven't heard anything good (AT ALL) about any of the other games on your list.
Also, for Wii Points, get Cave Story, Gradius ReBirth, or Contra Rebirth when it comes out. If you like shooters, look up Gate of Thunder, Axelay, Star Parodier, and Blazing Lazers (all my favorites).
