If you ever want to see Secret of Mana as it was intended to be before they threw the axe in the game due to memory constraints, please write something in this thread to vote. If we manage to get square to see this, they might start working on it again!

I would gladly spend 2000 wii points on the "lostlevels of mana"

I guess a lot of it is already made. Its money well spent on their behalf! =D

Come on Square!

**UPDATE**

I recieved this mail after contacting them regarding this matter:

Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX Customer Support,

We hope this letter answers your questions.

Our parent company, SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. of Japan, has no current plans to re-release that particular title at this time. This is not to say that it will never happen, it's just that SQUARE ENIX of Japan is currently focusing on numerous other projects.

We hope that this information has been of some assistance, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks,

They won't.

What was the game intended to be like?

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

The game was originally intended for the SNES CD so it would have been a bigger game.
As for Squeenix reading this and remaking the game based on one thread on a Nintendo fan site, I'd rate the chances of that happening on a par with me marrying Lucy Liu i.e. it ain't gonna happen.

Its just a matter of posting this link to square, in lots of it.
If it grows that is! They have email at squaresoft you know...

I've been wanting this since the mid 90's. When playing the game you can just feel the parts of the game that was left out, especially during the Sage Joch event. But considering how the Mana series has fared in the past decade it feels more unlikely than ever. No, I'm thinking the the best we can hope at this time is them releasing their mobile phone remake of Seiken Densetsu (which I would love, Sword of Mana did nothing for me) on WiiWare since it would probably require not too much effort to get working. And if that was a hit... Who knows...

Wiiperson11

That would be cool.

I have great videos!

just fill in Yayy, for yes if you want it. When it reaches 500 votes I WILL send the link to them!

Companies don't make critical business decisions on fan petitions...they base their decisions on sales and profits. I understand your excitement / want...but the reality is they won't pay attention to this link even if you have 10,000 'yays'. For now, I'll just be happy that they released Secret of Mana on VC (started playing it again with my wife and son last night).

Im playing it on the snes with my girl right now as well. It was this that made me thinking of the petition in the first place! =D

Yeah...internet petetions almost never work, especially for something of limited appeal like this.

"The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion."

Digiki

Secret of Mana isn't much fun anyways...

Final Fantasy Adventure is better, and dare I say it, Sword is too...

TheBlueBomber

So no one really cares? It would be the biggest feat in gaming history!
PS. Digiki, get off the shrooms, it´ll kill ya!

Not really. I love the game (Just got it, courtesy of JayArr ), but I'd rather see a sequel than a few extra levels.

I'm not saying there's no chance they'll read it, just that they won't do anything. I'd like to think that I could have some kind of influence on decision making at a major games company but unfortunately I live in the real world.

If we get their attention that there are money to make on finishing a game, they will do something about it! =)
If it was near copletion already, why not just put a dude on it for a couple of weeks, the profit margin must be tremendous!
Or at least release it to the community, we can surely do it together..

You'd best hope for a Secret of Mana remake on the DS.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

TheBlueBomber

no, that would not make any sense, multiplayer wise. Thats were the fun is! =)

TheBlueBomber

TheBlueBomber

So, no one cares, even after sqares vague statement that something might be going on?

You can't do multiplayer on the DS?

y2josh

TheBlueBomber

Instead of having one hardware unit with one game (wii) you have to have 3 blokes with 3 DS.s and 3 games (DS), the screensize is of by more than a couple of inches as well.
Even I would not pick up such a thing, its copletly pointless going the DS route. My opinion anyway.

Why not just release the material they have, give it a couple of weeks of polishing tops, rerelese it on the wii?
Play it on the same screen, with friends, in the same room. Fun as hell!
