Instead of having one hardware unit with one game (wii) you have to have 3 blokes with 3 DS.s and 3 games (DS), the screensize is of by more than a couple of inches as well. Even I would not pick up such a thing, its copletly pointless going the DS route. My opinion anyway.
Multiplayer DS games seem to be selling better than multiplayer VC games.
Just saying.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
@15: If I were you I wouldn't get my hopes up because of that email. A while back I queried them about the previously mentioned Seiken Densetsu remake and I got the exact same response. It's a standard response they throw out there whenever suiting. Means nothing.
Geez!! How hard can it be? Shall we try to contact one of the old developers and just make him release a ROM on the side? =D Square is a HUGE company, if they invested 200 man hours the game would be done. I d o n t s e e t h e p r o b l e m! !
Final Fantasy Adventure is better, and dare I say it, Sword is too...
This.
So they cut the levels out of the VC version? Didn't know that. Is that why the size is so small? Well, I don't really care anyway. Secret of Mana was OK, but I certainly don't want more of it to play...

You know several games on DS have allowed single-cart multiplayer, right?
I don't have a problem with the screen dimensions at all. You'll get used to it eventually. Plus you get to play SoM on the go.

They cut things from the original release version. It was supposed to be released for the SNES CD attachment but when that was canceled they had to cut large parts of the game due to space concerns. It has been speculated that this really pissed Square off and contributed to them parting ways with Nintendo when the PlayStation took off.
it might've contributed to their parting, but the real final nail in that coffin was FFVII -- when Nintendo canceled the 64DD project and tried to tell them to do the same thing (put the game on a cartridge instead of a disc/discs) again.
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
Petitions don't really work, but this topic's made me curious if anyone knows the answer to this: has it been documented anywhere that the CD version of Secret of Mana even made it to a completed, working form?
It was probably nearly finished. I dont think it would take any effort to make it what it was sopposed to be. Thats why I think a petition would work. If they see that there is an intrest in bying the full version, they might release it.

Never heard that before. Anyway, Secret of Mana is a fine game as it is. More Secret of Mana would have been great but in this case just not possible. They've probably abandoned and discarded all references to the "Super CD" version long ago. Its been fifteen years too, if they were going to return to the full Secret of Mana game that was initially intended, they would probably have done so by now.

Don't be confused in here: The CD version of Secret of Mana was never finished and or shown to public! It's not even safe to say that such a game existed on more than just paper.
Square released the one and only SNES version. The version on the VC is the original SNES version.
Petitions of that kind are 10/10 on a "useless scale". You have more chances to get a MOTHER3 64DD beta demo released.
