So I already have a GameCub for 10 years or so, and I also have a WII (not a WII U). And my boyfriend bought me "Super Smash Bros Brawl" for my newyears. It's really uncomfortable to play this game with the WII controllers, and I found out you could play te game with the GC controllers, but you need an adapter for that.
Sounds easy, but I really cant find an adapter where you can put in 4 GC controllers - since I have that many and want to play with my friends. Does anyone have a clue where I can get an adapter with 4 "ports"? I tried Amazon, but I only found adapters for the WII U, or adapters with only 1 port. I don't actually know if the adapters for the WII U also will work on the WII, but I'm afraid it won't.
I hope some of you guys (or girls!) can help me with this.
The older Wii models had Gamecube controller ports on them so you can use GC controllers on them. Since you have a newer Wii there are only two options for you and I am not sure if the first one will work.
I think the Wii U GC adapter might work but not 100% sure
The other thing you could do is get a few more Wiimotes and then get the Classic controller Pros that are Gamecube style but plug into the Wiimotes.
Third option is just buy a Gamecube, they are cheap enough right now.

The revised Wii (not the Mini) got rid of the backwards compatibility with the Gamecube.
What, that's terrible! How could they do that? @Amphitrite: So just to confirm, your Wii doesn't have this?
Because from what I understand, if it doesn't have GC controller ports, it also doesn't support GC discs. Therefore, even a GC adapter wouldn't help you because in that case your Wii can't process the Super Smash Bros Brawl disc.
That said, I wouldn't rule out that the GC adapters for Wii U wouldn't work on a Wii. Many peripherals like the LAN adapter work on both consoles. But that doesn't help you if your Wii can't play GC games.
In that case, you would probably have to replace your Wii with an older model. The only other option I could think of would be maybe homebrew, but I don't think it would help either if the Wii can't read GC discs anyway...
