The most overrated Nintendo Wii game is of couse-Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Years of hype went into this game and all we got was disappointment. The terrible online combine with lackluster character roster made me regret buying the game. If I have learned anything from it, if you know it's going to severly disappoint you or a dumb down version of another version, don't get it.
I have to agree with TP unfortunately. Loved the game, but it was easy using all the tricks up my sleeve from OoT. I think if it had been the first Zelda game I had ever played though I would have felt differently.
Brawl really isn't all that much different from Melee, but what else can you really add to a fighting game? Personally I think both of those titles have too much stuff for me. I like the N64 SSB best, actually. It's just simple, beat 'em up, party fun. Not all of these crazy collectibles I'll never have time to get.
You're right in that No More Heroes isn't overrated but please don't compare it to Super Mario Galaxy. lol
It's like saying "Sure my Hyundia Elantra has a couple problems... just like that Porsche Panamera over there"
You couldn't be more wrong. NMH is more like a sports car that's extremely rough around the edges, but looks insane and does a great job around the track-- but there's no space in the boot, and in general it takes getting used to. Some people will never give it a chance, and you feel sorry for them. But you've never driven anything like it before; and the flaws aren't because it's just another car, but because they tried to go beyond that. Super Mario Galaxy is more of a luxury car; it's not a bad drive, and there are plenty of little problems that bug you. It's still a great drive, but it's not the smack in the face that NMH is. If you had to pick which car you wanted more, you'd probably go with the more comfortable one, but you're doing yourself a disservice to not take the first one around a time or two.

Also Feba, NMH is over-rated. I have the game and have beaten it. It's good but nothing to rave about.
The word 'overrated' means that someone considers other people to have given the game too much credit. Everyone who loves NMH admits that it has problems, that it's rough especially in the overworld. But they appreciate it in spite of the flaws. Not in ignorance of them. It is something to rave about, although it won't appeal to everyone.
Still, the first time is really the worst, and it gets better after that. I'm not going to assume you're one of those gamers that plays games just to say they've beaten them and then moves on, but you're doing yourself a disservice to only 'beat' it. In a way, it actually parodies that. With the lackluster overworld, the first playthrough requires a bunch of crap-- the second time and on you can just use assassination mission 18 for easy LB$, play at higher difficulties, and so on. It gets better the more you play it. You may still dislike it, and there's nothing wrong with that, but you can't just play it once and really appreciate why people are in love with it.
I think Resident evil 4 is a truly over rated game. I may be blinded by zelda love but i think twilight princess was great, but I do hope the next installment is better.

Well...disappointing online modes are going to be expected in ALL Wii games, but I think Brawl is great other than that. Lackluster character roster? I mean it had Sonic and Snake, what more could you really ask for?

They are getting better though. And 36 characters, your right, is a good amount of characters. But mo matter how many characters they add, you will always want more!
Metroid Prime Corruption, I'd say. The opening third with all the buddy-buddy fighting was pure gash. Samus should always be a loner. Isn't that the bountyhunter 'thing'?
And Super Paper Mario. A single idea (the flip-mechamic) milked to death, rendering the game far too easy. Not to mention the saccharine characters.

Super Paper Mario? Seriously? The game people hate for not being TTYD 2? Also, Brawl is an awesome example of an easy to pick up game that gets deep at a competitive level, has tons of content and is overall a really polished title. It may be overrated, but it's still one of the best games this gen, and if Melee was any indication, people will play it until the next SSB comes out.
Brawl is certainly the most overrated game on the Wii, which is why I traded it in today at (for a nearly 50% return rate, I was stunned). I don't normally do this with games I truly love, because Brawl is not such a game. It was supposed to be such a big upgrade from Melee: more characters, better balancing, cooler items, cooler moves, etc etc. What we got, however, was a nicely polished party game, and not the fighter that Melee was. They added in too many random elements (i.e. Tripping), a lot of instant kill items, for some reason, along with Sonic and Snake. I'm not saying it's a terrible game because it's not and can be very fun, but it IS a terrible fighter. Melee is clearly superior, at least in that regard if nothing else.
Just the online options, however terrible they may be in Brawl, make Brawl the better game in my eyes. I don't have tons of people to invite over to play with, and Smash Bros. is the type of game that needs to be played against real humans.

Along with playing against a real human though, you need to be able to play against a real human at a reasonable game speed, which Brawl Online does not provide. I played my friend who lives 45 minutes away from me in the same state, and the game still lagged to a crawl. That says something about the Brawl netcode...specifically, that it sucks. I can play Street Fighter IV against someone in Japan and have a lag-free match, pull off all my moves as I intend and have a great match. If I try the same thing with Brawl, it's hardly playable, with a 5-second lag between Input and Action. No good.
Melee wasn't considered an out and out fighter by many either. Brawl got decent reviews even for reviewers who are generally depressed and negative as well.

Actually, it's the only online game that I was severly disappointed with on the Wii.
I could ask for Mega Man, Pichu, Mewtwo, Dr. Mario, and Roy.
You could ask for Mega Man, but Capcom would have to allow it, and why would they when they have their own fighting game? The other characters aren't unique enough to really be disappointed about. Sure, there will always be some random obscure character someone will dream up to complain about, but overall it is a pretty impressive character roster.
The online mode certainly is disappointing, though. Fortunately, Brawl still has local play, which is more fun anyway.
