@J Bitties: He IS a genius and I have a man-crush on him. He knows what we all want, beam swords, violence, profanity, 2D mini-games and an over the top story, all wrapped up in seven layers of freshly pressed cool. Yum!

The 2D jobs are really cool (though I did enjoy the ones in the first game -- picking up rubbish and the little comments made, excellent!). It just looks like class all the way around. I'm pretty sure Japan is the only one scheduled to have "censoring" this time around; I'm not really bothered. I was wary of the first game due to that, but I actually liked the look of it; seemed to fit the cell-shading aesthetic well.

Agreed Sean. I was a lil disgruntled before I played it, but the game shone through despite the black pixels, I got used to them and at no point did it detract from the brutal manoeuvres on offer. Having seen the Kill Bill esque violence in the recent playtests, I hope you are right about no censorship over here. The Wii has Parental Controls after all, people just need to make use of them.

Found a good blogread whilst surfing... Suda 51 and the "Art" of Videogames.

Thanks Machu, that was a really great read! I agree with every thing it said, and it made me feel awful for not have playing his other games (I can't find them anywhere!).

A pleasure Popyman, glad you enjoyed it too. I have only played NMH and K7 but am looking to buy Flower, Sun, and Rain if I spot a copy. I am intrigued!

Yeah, I'll get them all someday, it's just I find it more fun to randomly find something I've been looking for in a store than to just order it online. Feels like cheating =P

However, I saw that my GameStop has Contact, so I think I'll get that sometime this week. Though it doesn't seem to have very much of Suda51's style..

Wow, and the first NMH was the most not-for-kids game I've ever seen. Sure there are lots of uberviolent games on other systems, but NMH goes out of its way to be "bad". It didn't get the crazy response GTA does every time, but that's because it's so purposefully over-the-top. This is one game I will not play if my parents are ever around when I'm here playing

Which I find funny since Travis is pretty much exactly what people think gamers can become.

Just watched the video and cannot wait! The 2D looks fun and is exactly what should be happening more often. A very interesting and refreshing break from other developers who soley try to keep up with the other consoles. Graphics only take you so far, but people forget about good old fashioned fun! The first game was crazy fun, a little heavy on the toilet humor, but nothing compares to it thus far on the Wii. The first NMH is my favorite Wii game and this one looks to easily one-up its predecessor. Looking forward to another strange trip from the genius.
