Whoops, I just saw the rules. I'd like to appeal the choice of Final Destination for the final stage, if that's okay.
The lack of platforms is particularly detrimental to certain characters. If the idea is to make it fair, perhaps we could allow each player to choose as normal, but limit it to certain agreed-upon-in-advance neutral stages? I think the following are generally considered neutral:
Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Island, Lylat Cruise, and Smashville. Maybe Delfino Plaza and one or two Melee stages, but I'm not sure. I'll be fine with any decision, but I personal find Smashville to be the most neutral.
I was under the impression the tournament would take place entirely tonight. I mean, it's just three rounds. It'd be pointless to wait until Wednesday for one player. We can always do this again some time.
In fact, I'm thinking if we could rank everyone according to their performance in this tournament (which would require each player to report what place he gets in each round), we could use that to establish fair teams for a doubles tournament later on.
But if this tournament isn't taking place entirely tonight, count me out. I will be out of town Wednesday through Saturday, and most of Sunday (but I'll be here Sunday evening, which is generally Brawling time anyway).

I don't see how that matters. You can't sign up after the first round is completed, anyway. The whole thing could be over in as little as 30 minutes. It's only three rounds.

I just want to remind that I am not certain I can make it tonight. I am supposed to have friends over for a board game, but I don't know when they'll be here. Chances are by the time the tournament starts they'll be here, but maybe they won't mind taking a short break since it likely won't last long.
Yeah, now that I think about, the matches go so fast that three rounds would go by pretty quickly. Maybe something like a round every 15-20 mins to determine advancement so we don't get all confused as to who is playing who, etc.

ok just to clear everything up the entire tournament is tonight and ive removed machu and minial100 because of time zones and connections also anyone can stilljoin untill the time of the tournament or untill we fill up all the spaces

I am trying to make a nice graphical bracket with everyone's name and friend code for ease of reference. I can't seem to find friend codes for the following: Kid A, ZSS, Pie4Prez, and Raccoon Mario.
Also, a couple things that would help to keep the tournament organized and running smoothly:
Designate one particular player to host the room (easiest way would be whoever's first in the bracket). Otherwise, multiple players might create rooms for the same game, causing confusion.
If you have a forum screen name that is different from your Brawl screen name, tell us in advance. If I see "Susie wants to join," I won't know that that she is Cow Launch if she doesn't tell me first. TJ though will be easy to spot.
Also, does anyone know if there is a way to prevent a game from starting? I've seen "Waiting" next to a room before, but I don't know what causes it to wait. If I start a room and anyone joins, it'll start as soon as the timer is done. It's really frustrating when I want to wait for someone and this happens, and it'll be even more frustrating if it happens during the tournament.

He should be there if I am there. Like I said from the beginning, I have some uncertain plans for tonight. As of now, just plan for me and a guest to be in, but if the tournament ever gets so packed that there isn't enough room for everyone, kick my guest out first, then me.
