Has anyone has picked up one of the Nintendo Select titles, yet? If so, can you please answer these questions? These questions are aimed to those that previously owned or still own a Nintendo Select title and purchased it again in the Select Format. 1) Is the disc/manual in anyway different from the original game's? 2) I previously owned Mario Sluggers and my Twilight Princess game is scratched to a point that it will not play. If I were to buy one of those titles again in the Select format, would my save file be retained from the previous version or will it create a new file under new game data? Thanks for Answering. Also, discuss the Nintendo Selects and which ones you'll be picking up as well. If more Selects titles are announced, please post the proof here.
I'm tempted to get Twilight Princess, even though I own the GCN version and don't care for it much. I guess it's the IR controls and it being on the Wii.
At any rate, my money's going towards Ocarina of Time 3D next month, so this'll have to wait.
I've already got all of the European titles that have gotten into the Wii Select range yet. (Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Wii Sports, Mario Strikers: Charged Football) I wouldn't mind many more titles going into this selection. Especially third-party games like Zack & Wiki, A Boy And His Blob and Boom Blox. Aside from that New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, the Mario Galaxy titles and many many other come to mind. Personally i'd get Fire Emblem in a hearbeat if it were to be a Selects title.
Anyway, another question that would interest me.
Do these games come with an alternative cover ? (like the New Play Control range of titles) Just wanted to know though i find the Selects covers quite tasteful.
I think he asks because he wants to know if these new releases have a different save file account.
Like, Wind Waker's Ocarina of Time and Collector's Edition Ocarina of Time. Both were on Gamecube and they are esssentially the same game, but they have seperate save files as if they were different games.
I'll answer my own questions 1) The only differences between these and the original are the front cover, price, and there is a tiny crown on the binding. The disc and manuel are the exact same. (The discs are not shiny though) Even the back of the box is the exact same thing. 2) See answer one @LTD The American games do not have an alternate cover. It may or may not be different for Europe.
So that means the older games still have those boring discs with only two colors? That's too bad, I would of really liked to see Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess with a full colored label.

Thanks, ballkirby1 ! I guess i'll just find that out if i get a Selects title one day. No alternate cover definitely wouldn't keep me from getting one of these games. But still it would have been awesome to have the option to swap it to the original cover. It seems like a step backwards compared to the New Play Control titles.
Does anyone here own Mario Super Sluggers, and if so, is it worth getting? I own the original Mario Superstar Baseball and my friend and I still play it. Is the sequel worth getting as an upgrade?
