I was at Wal-Mart a few days ago....saw the Nintendo power for may 2010. The cover included Super Mario galaxy 2.
May 2010? It's barely april (even more so a couple days ago =P) does Nintendo Power normally do this? how come I can find pictures of last months magazine on the web but not this one? Was it not supposed to come out until later, or maybe they're really no pictures up at the moment online...which seems odd...find me one if you can so i'm not crazy xD I'm wondering who else has this issue because....
It seems like one of the best issues yet...so many previews of awesome games coming out. =]
Also sorry if this is in the wrong section, new here...didn't know if this was supposed to be in 'News' or not =/

Well Nintendo Power always publish one month ahead, like many of the magazines I read. They may be a little outdated on their website though, but it's still a normal issue, with all the same info that we have.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
Oh I see, thanks Crystal. I still find it weird that I don't see a picture of the cover anywhere...im probably just not looking hard enough.
Well as for news, for you tetris fans, there is Tetris Party Deluxe (summer release), and a little article about The Last Story. The Last Story is the one that most interests me anyway heh. Sadly no estimated release has been given outside of Japan =[
Yes Dragoon is right....also they already reviewed Monster Hunter Tri.
Previews on Sin and Punishment: Star Successor Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Review on Red Steel 2 And....Arc Rise Fantasia, a few pages on that!

O rly? What did they say?
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
I won't type the whole shabang, but ill type the last paragraph of the review, "Monster Hunter Tri is one of the very best games Wii has to offer. We can recommend it without the slightest bit of hesitation. Sign it, suit up, and grab some friends-the Wii's multiplayer "killer app"is here." They also praised the online play quite highly, and of course stated it's one of the best looking games on the Wii. =]
Can't wait till Nintendo life gets a review of this to say what they have to say =D

Did they say anything negative about it?

Nothing really....they praised multilayer more than single player, but that's no surprise it's what the game is all about supposedly. And controls are solid, but better with the classic controller or classic controller pro, rather than with the nun-chuck.

Do you think (based on the review) that they would give it a similar rating if it didn't have any multiplayer at all? I'm wondering because I'm kind of skeptical about the game because I don't have WiFi for my Wii and I don't want to spend $50 on an ok game.
eh...well JUST for the single player experience I honestly don't think they would give it a 9...I mean they still might of course if the single player was more in depth but it would probably get stale quickly... As they stated, the more difficult quests and tougher monsters can only be taken out by a party.

Don't forget that there is a splitscreen co-op multiplayer mode.
Hmmmm yeah still...with you and one friend you can still be limited to what can be accomplished with a full party....though I wonder if you can go online with 2 players cooperative...that would be make it more fun I think....they didn't mention it in the review and I don't remember reading about it.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the splitscreen is just an arena type thing. It's just you and a friend in an arena taking on the various monsters, I don't think it's full blown co-op.
I plan on getting the Wii Speak + Classic Controller Pro bundle for my birthday.

What did Red Steel 2 get? I'm thinking between 8 and 9. So what did they say? And are there any other major reviews in the issue ( I haven't got my yet)
I played a little bit more of the demo, and if the first mission on that is an easy beginner one and an indication of what the rest of the game will be like, I'm gonna have to cancel my preorder. Maybe it's because I don't have a Classic Controller, maybe because I was skeptical about the entire concept, but it's just not my cup of tea. When I get a Classic Controller I'll try the demo some more and maybe get it, but for now I don't think it's right for me.
