I don't have NSMBWii, but it looks better. Warioland is great and all although a bit short, I'd reccommend getting it at your first opportunity. It's not hugely original, but that doesn't stop it from being a good game!
Wario Land is harder. So although it may be shorter, it'll take you much longer to beat each level than in NSMBWii.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

how is wario land less original than new super mario bros wii?
Wario Land is great. It's fun to try to get all the treasures and trying to clear all the "missions" and stuff like that...
...until you find out that there's that super annoying running from the end to the beginning in every single level. It's a bit weird that I really did love this game but the only reason I haven't played this game more than one day is the annoying run at the end of the levels. I always feel that I'd like to play Wario Land but then that running jumps into my mind and I completely lose every bit of my will to play the game.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is amazing and way more pleasing than Wario Land.
