I'm in the U.S., but I was fortunate to get it for free since I downloaded the original beta version. Then it upgraded and I didn't have to drop any points on it. I'm frustrated at it's inability to play some of the you-tube vids, etc. I was really wanting to watch Roughnecks and it wouldn't let me. Hopefully, if this update comes to the U.S., it'll resolve that problem.
Awesome, I ignored the blue spam light this morning but then saw this. I now have the lovely Wii-Shop music caressing my ears as I download the all new Internet Channel. No free SNES game for me though I've had the Internet Channel since day 1. But nice one Nintendo for reimbursing (kinda) those who paid. Wahoo!
Thinking about it.... I would have rathered the Nintendo Channel update Japan got a while ago. The update itself isn't really anything to rant and rave about and isn't going to change how I use it because I don't really use it much anyway.
The extra space is nice and the making it free/giving a refund thing is cool (even though it doesn't effect me since I got it early anyway). Other than that however... "meh"

Flash Lite 3.1 includes the following new capabilities:
H.264 support (dependent on OEM implementation) — Flash Lite 3.1 includes H.264 standard video support, the same standard deployed in Blu-ray and HD-DVD high-definition video players and HD web videos.
Improved Web browsability — Flash Lite 3.1 is broadcast as a Flash 9, ActionScript® 2.0 compatible player and supports any content that does not use ActionScript 3.0. The Flash Lite 3 web browsability guidelines provide a complete list of features not supported in Flash Lite 3.1.
Support for hardware acceleration — Flash Lite 3.1 supports OpenVG 1.1 to improve flash rendering performance on capable devices.
New object-oriented extension mechanism — This mechanism provides easier and faster integration with device APIs.
It's basically Flash 8.5 HD Remix, which is a hell of a lot better than Flash 7 we used to have. (It would be Flash 9, but alas ActionScript 3 is a no-go.)
Ug, so I tried the BBC iPlayer (which I use a fair bit) to see if the quality has been improved, and it's not working anymore, at all.
Another quality browser courtesy of the good folks at Nintendo! NOT Don't think I'll even bother downloading this. I know it's free an all, but c'mon, it's rubbish really in it? I mean why bother?
Its not as good as using the PC but its not completely rubbish, I sometimes use it while my PC is starting up or if my PC is acting up, so it can be handy at times.

It's actually not too bad once you know its limitations. Hardly a replacement for proper PC browsing, but not a catastrophe either. And certainly not now it's free.
