They are closer to their arcade counter parts, save scores and a pause button where the coin slot is! I herd the stick and buttons are really good except that it's 4 way. There's only one problem with that, and that's with Xavious. Also the stick can twist at the top to play Pole Position, and it works good! You can get it for 14.99 (shipping included) on Amazon!
I'm curious as to the picture quality on that new one. The one i have has a very thin, unshielded RCA-cable connection that often gets a lot of video noise/interference. Not that i don't already have like a dozen other versions of Pac-Man anyway (it's one of my all-time favorite arcade games). =)
That two-button plug-in thing looks pretty cool. If it was in two parts with a wireless controller I'd be tempted just because it has four of the eight Pac-Man games I'd like to have (only Pac-Mania is available in the Japanese Wii Shop).
I'm sorry shpydar but I can't help but laugh at how bad the old version looks to the new one. Don't mind me it's just my humor. Lol Anyways mine should arrive today! I can't wait!
I'm not gonna lie man, I didn't really have any interest in Namco before, I did like Dig Dug and Pacman but I didn't know about Mappy and stuff like that. My friend Vivian got it and told me to get it cause she liked Mappy, and I playingly said if it had DigDug that I would get it (I mean come on a Plug and Play game) but I saw a review on youtube that said it was really good and I looked at the list of games on the website. The packaging for it impressed me too so I caved in. I'm gonna order a pizza, play some 80's music and get scores like if it was 1980.

No, i totally agree. =) It looked good compared to other plug-and-plays released around the same time, but that new one looks so sweet -- if only for the coin slot thing!
These games are suppose to look bad in on HD TVs right? Tried it on my room and it looked kinda of blurry. It's a good thing I planned to play it in the living room. Now this is a silly question but when you play with a joystick and with Pacman, do you hold the analog in the direction you want to go or do you flick it once. I mean what is a better method for quicker turns.
90's gamer just had to remind me of galaga legions and pac man championship- two titles I'd love to have on the wii. Instead we get this crappy "Megamix" where the remixed games are terrible pac man themed games. Why don't we get something like pac man ce where real thought was put into the remakes? To add insult this is practically the same as what namco released earlier on the wii. This is just lazy and shows contempt for wii owners. Don't buy it.
Digdug 2 isn't a real game. It was a hack made by someone in the studio. It's basically the same game but they added 4 different levels and the A.I is different.
@Kaiser For Pac-Man (the original), you can just move/flick the stick once in the direction you want to turn. There's no "quick turn" thing like is featured in Pac-Man CE.
And yes, it will look somewhat fuzzy on HD TVs, since the connection is through RCA (composite) connectors.
Well, the cables in that pic do look quite a bit better/thicker than what my plug and play has. I may pick it up on impulse if i see it in the stores.
EDIT: This is the one i have:
I have that one. I got it one year for Christmas I think.. and it was my first "video game." Rally X was my favorite on there but Galaxian (the openworld kinda one was pretty fun)
Looking forward to The Conduit 2 and CoD: Black Ops for DS For really cool avatars for a forum, go here! http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Callsigns/Emblems
If I didn't have the overwhelming majority of these as VCA titles on my Japanese Wii I'd be all over it. I'm patiently waiting for Namco to release the balance; not sure what they're waiting for!
