Topic: My copy of Skyward Sword will not work

Hi, this is my first thread, very new here but I need help.
My Girlfriend bought me a copy of Skyward sword recently and it does not work. She purchased it online and when it arrived I noticed it was from a different region ... Saudi arabia to be exact. After doing some research I found out that it shouldn't make much of difference as that region falls under the same district as Australia and Australia falls under the same region as Europe! Meaning it should work for me. (Apparently the only regions that are strict are America and Japan)
And on closer inspection to the boz I found the green triangle which I believe stands for PAL.

However the game just doesn't work, The system is up to date and everything.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out , I've been dying to play this game for so long

Thanks a million

Hmmm, that's strange. Because I too brought a copy of Skyward Sword which is also from U.A.E, or Saudi Arabia (it also seems to work for Malaysia too, as depicted on the cover. Is that the case for you?) However, my copy is (or looks to be, at least) a NTSC region copy because it has the ESRB rating on the cover. So it works fine on my US Wii U.
There's no triangle on my copy, though... which means it's pretty much not going to work on a PAL region Wii U/Wii. If your copy doesn't work on your Wii U, then I think it's the wrong region. Just for confirmation purposes, what is the rating on your copy's cover? If it's a black letter with a white surrounding, then it's NTSC.
Saudi Arabia doesn't seem to fall under either PAL or NTSC: http://www.webcamsoft.com/en/faq/ntsc.html which is weird. I was already thinking that the UAE is an NTSC region, but now I'm confused...

Thanks for getting back to me Vee_Flames!

yeah on the front there is a circle split into three sections
one is for U.A.E
the second is for Malaysia Singapore (which answers that )
and the last part just says official product.

On the box it has the ESRB rating on the cover and its (E10+)
That's what im confused about, surely if it has that it should run???

@Davemau5: Right, just like my copy!
So, your profile says you're from Ireland, which is definitely a PAL region, so I'm assuming you have a PAL system (by the way, you never said which system you want to use to play the game. Doesn't matter, anyways.. the only systems that can play Skyward Sword are the Wii and Wii U... which are both region-locked). That means the game won't work on your system. You have to get a NTSC region system to play the game. I'm not much of an online shopper for game consoles, but you should be able to get a NTSC Wii for dirt cheap online.
Sorry about the situation!

Ah okay, Yeah sorry i probably should have said where I was from and what console (wii btw).
Well thats a bummer..
I don't know i might see if we can get it returned and buy a different copy, I mean that might be easier then buying another console altogether.... I hope.

Thanks for all your help anyway!!
Much appreciated

@Davemau5: Oh, gosh! I forgot to tell you that you can buy a different copy! Apologies...
Yeah, buying a different copy should be much more cheaper than buying a new console altogether. Besides, you don't really need to place another Wii next to your console for one game.
You're welcome, by the way.
