every time i play it i want to post something about how great it is. it is by far the most re-playable game i've ever had; the music and art get better and better over time and, as simple as it is, the combat never gets old. there are some complaints about recycled backgrounds, lack of depth, and poor options for traveling across the map that are very valid, but every time i play those complaints seem smaller and smaller. if they'd just improved a few issues by the slightest amount it may have wound up being my favorite game ever, but it's still right up there anyway.
I just grabbed this one. Im in the middle of 3D Dot Heroes, Bayonetta and just fired up Monster Hunter Tri and Nights on the Wii, so im putting this one off until I can play straight through it. I already know this will land in my never to sale stash lol.

There are two difficulties, if you pick the easier difficulty, its easy to play through in about 2 days. The harder difficulty is a lot harder and I haven't beat it in the hard difficulty.
Somebody set up us the bomb. Wii: 8703 7486 8875 3789 I love PWN3NG NintendoLife members on Tatsunoko :-)
Odin sphere is most likely better. Was it also better than princess crown do you know?
Anyway as it stands Muramasa is a beautiful journey back to the saturn days by a developer who clearly put love into their games.
There is no other game like it out on the market except perhaps Okami.
Games like this will not be made anymore so im glad to have a copy of it on disc as a pose to a 360 download that could die the fate of the RROD 3 years down the line.
@outrun2sp Odin Sphere is heavier on the RPG elements, while Muramasa focuses more on action platforming, Odin Sphere feels a lot slower as a result, but the gameplay is much more varied.
I don't know too much about Princess Crown (never played it), but I'm pretty sure Odin Sphere was an improvement over it in all areas.
I'm pretty sure games like these will always be made. 2D will never go out of style.
I think it's a gorgeous game but I didn't like the combat, and I have no idea why. I was expecting to love it. I didn't like Viewtiful Joe either :[ and they're both games I really wanted to love
I don't think it's an issue with the genre 'cause I loved Streets of Rage back in the day, and The Simpsons Arcade Game, and I love side scrollers in general. I think the combat is just too fast for me, I don't feel in control.
