“At Resident Evil 5’s launch, it was announced that a Wii version was not technically possible. But after some of the work that Cavia has done (with RE: Darkside Chronicles), the producers of Resident Evil 5 over in Japan now think it is possible. Some of the light effects in the South America stage are pretty incredible. Whether it is going to come, I don’t know the answer to that question. But, it has been said that now at least it is possible.”

i agree with the author at the end of the article; stop with the on rails shooters and make a real successor to resident evil 4 on wii. if the gamecube was powerful enough to make a great experience with that playing style, the wii should be more than powerful enough to make one even better.

Modern Warfare Wii has shown me HD-to-Wii ports can be done well, so hooray Treyarch and possibly Capcom.

RE5:Alternate edition on the PS3 may serve as the version to be adapted with the new MT framework engine for the wii...makes sense don't ya think?

Resident Evil 5 was soooooooooooo disappointing to me.

I only ever played the demo, which I'm not sure was a good representation of the game since it was extremely clunky and frustrating. But hey, maybe that's just RE5.

The demo is actually a pretty good representation of the rest of the game, give or take a few parts.

Yep RE5 sucked. A lot of ppl didn't like RE4 cause they thought it strayed too far away from the classic RE. I can see where they're coming from but RE4 was awesome in its own way and REmake is just as awesome in its own way. RE5 however, gameplay wise was a failure IMO. It felt like a step back. What do you expect when the man who made the RE series wasn't even involved in it. Nevertheless, I'd still like to see it on the Wii eventually.

What was really confusing about RE5, though, was trying to accept an invitation to a game to play with someone else. Sure it's easy now, but figuring it out was a pain at first. (This is on PS3 anyway).

-The person that you wanted to play with would send you an invite message.
-You go to your message box and click on the invitation to accept it...only...there's no accept button. Just a reply button.
-After messing around a bit, you finally figure out that you have to hit the triangle button while your friends PSN name is highlighted, which brings up a list of options. Choose "Accept Invitation."
-You haven't really accepted it yet, though. Now you are taken to a list of Invites that the person has sent you. Click on the invite and then click accept.
-Now you are taken to a screen to wait while the person who invited you in the first place now decides whether or not to allow you to join the game.
-Once they allow you to join, you're in! =D

Not too bad once you get it, but annoying nonetheless.

If it did make it to Wii, I wouldn't buy it. I played half of RE5 and found it pretty soul-less, watching Beefcake 4000 strut about did my head in! What was that about? I'll just play RE4 again, and again, and again....

Funnily enough, I played Separate Ways for the first time last night. What a treat that was.

RE5 was VERY dissapointing. I felt like a babysitter the whole time I played wich only was about 4 hours and I said screw it and just quit playing it. I was not impressed at all. The controls are ridicilous and shouldn't be restriced anymore.

Not so sure about a lot of people not liking RE4, as I've only heard good things about it. I guess some people must have really been enjoying the outdated controls and rut the series was in prior to RE4.

Once you give Sheva infinite ammo, she will be a killing machine. The game was more enjoyable on my second playthrough.

Darn you to heck, Japanese video game makers! Stop making us feel pain because you can't decide what to do!

Well you'll always find supporters and detractors on both sides. As much as I loved the classic RE's I have to admit that RE4 was necessary for the series to move on. But I have heard that RE5 mistake was the partner system, the Gearsofwaressque controls and the 99% action-1% horror treatment.

But I have yet to play it tbh

romulux

the partner system is actually really fun if you have another person to play with. otherwise, it's pretty annoying.

resident evil 5 is not a good match for the wii. it was designed to be a fancy cutting edge next-gen game and in that regard it's a great match for the 360 and ps3; the graphics are amazing, but the gameplay hasn't moved forward and the whole experience feels shallow. i haven't played too many games on those systems but the ones i have played seem to be funner to look at than they are to play, and resident evil 5 dove into all this 'impressive graphics over gameplay' nonsense head first.

take that game and port it to the wii; you'll lose that polish and the game will no longer be able to rely on it's visuals. the lack of gameplay will stand out even worse than before. it may not be able to do co-op, which i thought was the one really fun innovation 5 had; does the idea really excite anyone?

The only good thing in RE5 was the co-op mode.
