Since Midway just got saved from bankrupty by Warner Bros, I think, is there still a chance they'll contribute to the VC, because I really want Mortal Kombat on there. Mortal Kombat II and Ultiamte Mortal Kombat 3 are my favorite classics of all time.
(sigh in relief.) We're finally going to see Mortal Kombat, even if it takes years. Well, that proves that bankruptcy doesn't always result in going out of business. Oh and in case your wondering, Midway actually did go bankrupt (They had 240,000,000 to pay back, that's a lot of money people!). But at least the're saved. Shame it wasn't Sega, but at least it's saved. Beside, Midway and Warner Bros. did make a game together (Let's not get into the "disappointment").
The deal isn't inked yet; currently they're trying to get regulatory approval and another interested party could step in and outbid Warner.
I'm most interested in their pre-MK arcade properties, so I hope whomever ends up running the show will be happy to put out fresh compilations or support the VCA service.
I used to regularly spam Midway about exploiting their IP, but it could be that they're exclusive with Xbox Live Arcade or something. Disappointing, really. The old Midway website is dead: it's all Warner Interactive now, but I'll give them another tin of shaped meat and see what kind of response I get.
I don't care about the Mortal Kombat games. I used to have MK2 for my Sega Genesis, but I sold it, because it's too violent, and there's no way to turn off the blood and fatalities.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
Rush 2 and Rush 2049 claimed a good portion of my adolescence. They need to come out with another Rush game. I never played it, but I heard L.A. Rush wasn't very good, though.

I still have San Fransisco Rush for my N64. Very fun game, but man, the graphics have aged really poorly and the music is god awful. I'd definitely like to see the other N64 games in the series on Virtual Console since I've never played them. The VC could really use some more quality racing games too. With the exception of Super Mario Kart there hasn't been any on the service in a long ass time.

Yeah, i would love to see another Rush game, but i keep my hopes low because both Midway and Atari Games are defunct now. I doubt WB Games will do any good to the series...

The original hasn't aged well, but I never thought it was that great to begin with. I started with Rush 2, which is far superior, and it looks and sounds much better than San Francisco Rush.
I don't give 2 sh*ts about Mortal Kombat (series always looked disgusting, clunky, and not fun to me), but I could definitely go for some Marble Madness, Rampage, Cruis'n, Joust, and Spy Hunter love right about now.
The Midway XBLA games (Defender, Gauntlet, Joust, Paperboy, Robotron 2084, Rootbeer Tapper, Smash TV and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, as well as a few others) have been removed from the service due to Midway's troubles. I doubt we'll see them back anytime soon, meaning I doubt the VC will be receiving them at all.

Yeah, problem is that they're NA-only and honestly I wasn't too happy with the GC controller when I had the NA Wii, squishy shoulder buttons and all that. Surprised about the games being removed from XB Live. Maybe someone could approach them about licensing them then? Of course someone could do that with Atari and they haven't bothered.

Rush 2049 was the best of the series imo. Aside from the regular tracks, which were great, the game also had the fantastic stunt and (especially) battle modes. I bought L.A. Rush when I saw it in a bargain bin at Gamestop for like $9.99. I didn't even know another Rush game had been released. The game is terrible, by the way.
Edit: EA picked up the rights to NBA Jam. Have any other Midway properties been purchased by other companies?

Rush 2 is, like, my favorite N64 game ever. I'd buy it instantly if it came to the VC.
And I hear the Arcade Treasures renditions are a bit screwed up from their original versions. And I don't want to use MAME. If only people would listen to what the fans want and start trying harder to get games on the retro services
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.
