I think most people are overreacting whenever someone says "I want to see Samus in a bikini". I'm pretty sure almost all Metroid fans do not want to see Samus in a bikini for the entire game. If that was the case, I would not buy it either and would kill Team Ninja for ruining Metroid and Nintendo for allowing it to happen. However, Metroid endings have always been a little bit fanservicey, so I think Samus in a bikini for the 100% ending would be perfectly acceptable, seeing as Nintendo itself did the exact same thing for the first few Metroids.
